It will be interesting to get a true measure of Bannon's influence and extremist support, how much did he actually bring to the presidency and will all his supporters abandon Trump?

It's more for the reading audience than for the person who should really be taking it to heart.

    Sad, but true....

Bannon will continue his agenda and rile up the bat crap crazy base for the midterm elections. He speaks with a forked tongue. He will further use Trump's popularity with the crazies to make a martyr out of Trump and get out the word thru Breitbart and other fake news that Trump was targeted. Bannon wants to fill the Congress with fascists. He's far from gone and will be freed up to spread propaganda like a plague.

I think the "extremist support" is way over rated.

I mean, we're talking about 1 in 10,000,000 are actual KKK members, or right wing nationalists. It's a pittance.

And they are pariahs in the national discord.

Bannon will do nothing now, but grow the Breitbart brand into a nationally recognized outlet for news. It's ingenious.

He'll end up being a billionaire.

When we talk about Muslim terrorists and the deaths they've caused, leftists on this board have called the percentage of deadly Muslims and their victims minuscule, not high enough to be concerned with. They'll look for angles to defend deadly terrorists right down to playing the numbers game. But if you ask me, while both groups are evil, Muslim terrorists exist world wide and kill far more people. The KKK is more or less a toothless pain in the ass and radical Islamists are where we should be focusing our attention. At last week's rally, each half of the people hated the other half, radical Islamists hate all of them.

I really never thought of it in those terms.

I'm going to say it again - you don't hire a new CEO for Ford who has never built a car, doesn't like cars and hates the people who build cars.

Why people thought it was a good idea to hire a President who has never constructed legislation, doesn't like government and hates the people in government, is beyond me.

I think Bannin is correct. I had been predicting what Trump did for years.......except I thought it would come in the form of a third party candidate tapping into the huge disaffected White vote. Trump has had to fight the Dems, the MSM and, more importantly, his own Republican Party. No President can survive that. So, in the end, my prediction will come true and a third party will form.......because the Trump base will not go away. Then, ultimately the Republican Party will cease to exist because it stands for nothing.

Not true at all. A large part of Trump's agenda is jobs, tax reform and infrastructure. Trump's background is that of a businessman and builder/developer.

If you look at the backgrounds of leaders of various countries you will see that in the US, of those who enter into politics there is a high percentage of lawyers (over 60%, with more being democrats than republicans).

In other countries such as China, their leaders mostly have engineering backgrounds.

Think about it and you may realize why.

This coming from a “typical” leftist firebrand who had to wade through a mountain of slimy DNC dung to get to Trump and use his pure white hanky to wipe the dirt off of Trump’s cheek.

Is that why his Business Councils disbanded in disgrace and Carl Ichan took a hike?

    Trump sure knows business. :roflol:

And in this country, most Presidents have a background that includes being a governor or a Congressman, or at least a general - practical experience for a government design unlike that of China. The last time we elected an "outsider", it was Carter, and though an honorable man, he was a poor President.

Would you hire an engineer to do your heart surgery? There is something to be said for job experience. When a President has ZERO experience in the military. Zero experience with Congress and constructing legislation. Zero experience working in a publicly held corporation. And zero experience in handling government beauracies - then you end up with poor communication and poor execution. Which is EXACTLY were Trump's White House is at.

Having an agenda is not the same as having the experience to implement it.

    All true.

Hopefully Kelly, Mattis and McMaster stay on.

They are all that stands between Trump and a complete government collapse.

I wouldn't say government collapse - but like the Nixon White House, the Trump White House could be a sinking ship. It may take a few years, and Trump might make it to the end of his term, but given his age and temperament, I doubt he would make it through the primaries if challenged.

But our government DID survive the Nixon White House collapse. It's a good form of government. So I would expect a rocky year or two, if Trump resigns, but in the end, it will survive this.

If you look at Trump's business experience, it is not stellar. His father bailed him out often. Many of his businesses went bankrupt. He had problems getting loans. His businesses were mostly on the small side (personnel wise) and family run. He is way over his head with this administration. I thought he was elected because he was going to put the best people into his staff. If that is so, why so much turnover? Why can't he identify the best talent? Why are hundreds of positions have no one even proposed to fill it? If you cannot see Donald fooled you, you are much more gullible than you should be.
