BBC staff told there are more than 150 genders – Telegraph

    Links:

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/06/25/bbc-staff-told-150-genders-diversity-training-sessions/

Note: I provided two different links to the The Telegraph's story. The transcription on the RT page, however, does not require 'creating a free account', etc.

    Excerpts:

"Britain's state-broadcaster BBC hired “trans and nonbinary inclusion” consultants to tell its staff that there are more than 150 genders and instruct them to police each other’s use of gender pronouns, the Telegraph reported on Saturday."

"During the sessions, staff were reportedly told that “people can self-identify themselves in over 150 ways, and increasing!” They were shown examples of newly-invented gender pronouns such as “xe, xem, xyrs,” and told to include their own pronouns in their email signatures to be more “inclusive and welcoming” and to further their “trans brand.”
Those opting to go by traditional “he/she” pronouns were told that these descriptors “can create discomfort, stress and anxiety” for trans and non-binary colleagues, and that “using correct pronouns and names reduces depression and suicide risks.”

OP opinion (required by Forum rules): This story describes yet another moment in the 'decline-and-fall' of what used to be GREAT Britain. The promulgation of this agenda-driven, frankly unscientific and arguably insane propaganda, droning on about multiple numbers of 'genders', is reflective of what is probably now an irreversible decay and lethal mental disease that has spread throughout British society.

What a sickening way for GREAT Britain to spend its TAXPAYERS' money....

Ha! Yeah... at least American taxpayers' money isn't being spent on this kind of mentally-diseased nonsense. Well, at least not YET....

If using a pronoun you don’t like causes feelings of anxiety and suicidal thoughts, you’re in Darwin’s sights.

Are people really going to remember 150+ terms when for all of time there were only two? How are first grade kids supposed to learn all this nonsense?

Simple solution to this problem: have three (THREE) genders: male, female, and "it". Now 'can we all just get along'...? :cheerleader:

This is great. Perhaps someone can discover the 151st gender! Its going to take an hour to find the correct restroom!

Cut science, math, history, reading, and writing; they're all racist anyways. Turn the next generation of Americans into clueless, perpetually triggered progcucks so that America ceases to be a threat to communist interests. This is their plan.

RT is a Russian media outlet which I believe has been shut down on 22 March of this year. Ofcom, the UK govt media regulator , found it guilty of repeated spreading of propaganda and misleading content.
It is also shut down in the US., the EU, Apple, and severely restricted elsewhere including India.
    Google RT.COM.
The Telegraph Links is not at all following its éditorial line. Are you sure they werent being critical? Apparently the Radio section of the BBC invited some transgender group to give a talk. Known for its impartiality, I am not unhappy that the BBC is willing to listen to à wide range of opinion.
None of this adds up. There is no way the BBC would take this "advice" seriously. But IMO it is good to be aware of all opinion. The BBC does not do platforming and no one is required to instantly believe what they are told.
Who knows. Tomorrow à radio producer may do à slot on the nonsense put about by small fringe spécial interest groups.

Couldn't they identify as literally anything? So wouldn't the number of genders be effectively infinite under their rubric?

If there can be 150 genders than thier can be 1000 genders. If there can be 1000 genders then there can be infinite genders. Of there can be infinite genders then there are no genders

The UK is a varied country with a shameful history, just like the USA.
The term ‘great’ refers to the geographical land mass, not a country self styling itself as somehow wonderful.
The Daily Telegraph is a right wing newspaper happily involved in culture wars, if I trod on the Telegraph I would use dog poop to clean my shoes of any remnant of that newspaper.

Could you imagine anything more useless and invalid than getting upset over a claim made by an outfit like RT?

So it's not a statement by the BBC. It's a statement of a consultant they hired.

    What is incorrect?
‘Great’ Britain refers to the largest land mass of the British isles.
    Prove me wrong.

You clearly were referring to any country, as specified by your “not a country”. Moving the goal post.

Rubbish. ‘The’ landmass is what I wrote, specific to Britain.
You are simply wrong, no goalposts have been moved.
Accept your mistake and learn from it.

You said a country, not specific to Britain at all. You are incorrect.
