It is always entertaining to encounter some anti-Americanism on the forum. I wonder why anti-Americans fail to hold up the countries they consider superior. I can guess why but so can you.

It also depends on what you mean by ‘superior’.
It can easily be said that the USA is superior to the Republic of Ireland in terms of the number of people murdered in spree killings using guns.
In that regard I would prefer the inferior Republic of Ireland.

Is there a list somewhere of these 150+ genders?

We call that a deflection. Murder isn't considered a superiority anywhere that matters. So what does superior really mean? My priorities are family and health. They are followed by freedom and comfort. Stick with those and you can debate superiority with me.

    OK. Let's start with healthcare.
    Easily googled.

    https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/best-healthcare-in-the-world.

The United States comes in 18th. The United Kingdom, with it's National Health Service comes in 13th.
Scandinavian countries tend to lead the world in healthcare.
How about raising families, also easily googled.
The United States comes in 34th, the republic of ireland comes in 16th.

    https://www.forbes.com/sites/laurab...worst-countries-raise-family/?sh=7d72fc7e7bec

Freedom is only defined by the degree of restriction, very often restrictions agreed by the population. If you care to read Rousseau you might contemplate the notion that every(man) is born free.

Comfort is a purely subjective notion isn't it?

OK, over to you. Tell me about superiority.

I knew I would be criticized for having a link to the scorned RT, but included it anyway because it was simply a mirror -- with attribution to the 'Telegraph' provided. My only real reason for doing this, though, was that the 'Telegraph' throws up a barrier which won't let you read a story unless you "join" for a free account first, which is a superfluous annoyance. RT does not do this.

But, I can recall that as one of a number of lower-level managers in a Fortune 50 prime-contractor to the Federal Government, we were required to attend several rather long 'sessions' of LGBT training, ostensibly to improve our 'sensitivity', as far back as 2006!

I do dispute, however, your contention that "There is no way the BBC would take this "advice" seriously". The BBC is notoriously liberal, and that characteristic would make it quite receptive to today's 'de rigueur' indoctrination regarding sexual 'orientation', n'est-ce pas...?

The BBC is certainly not notoriously liberal.
Watch that racist government apologist Fiona Bruce host a flagship political programme Question Time if you need persuading.
How about the BBC content on the wireless, have you evidence from that medium where the BBC is lacking balance?

No, Pro, it was according to the "Telegraph"... did you not see the ATTRIBUTION in the RT story? I explained that I only included the RT link because it was a MIRROR to the "Telegraph" story -- but without the necessity to 'sign-up' for a 'free account'.

But, if you feel that was sufficient cause to accuse me of being 'swindled', it certainly wouldn't be the first time you've done so, only to have me bring it to your attention later that you pounced too soon.... Remember our recent exchanges in 'current-events' regarding caravans in Mexico...? 8)

The question that one should ask is, "Did the BBC actually waste British taxpayers' money to patronize and encourage this kind of tripe?" If it's true, then what difference does it make WHERE the story came from?

If you had bothered to look into the story, you would have learned they are not talking about 150 genders.

Yes, I remember the caravan discussion. You were wrong that time too.

You do realize that hating dealing with cis people is bigoted. That word is over used.

I do agree that this whole 'gender' thing has turned into 'word-salad' quagmire, but the only really infuriating thing is that British taxpayers' funds were used to pay for any of this delusional crap! If people can't look down between their legs and figure out what they are, that's one thing -- but to spend taxpayers' money to fund forays into these fictional 'what-if' conjectures is as farcical as it is border-line criminal....

Well, Pro, in the story that you dismiss because you reject RT for having been the mirror to the Telegraph, it says rather clearly, "During the sessions, staff were reportedly told that “people can self-identify themselves in over 150 ways, and increasing!” And on and on.... Are you really that unclear on what the story said?

As far as the 'caravan' thing goes, we can take that up again any time you like. In point of fact, the 'migrant' caravans merely broke into smaller groups, as I pointed out, and they continue their advance on our southern border to this day!

How are we supposed to know what gender a person is? It’s a serious question.

I posted a link to 72 of them. Just last year there were a little less than 50, so give it time and watch it increase.

So, what they "reportedly" said about using pronouns, somehow translates to them saying there are 150 genders. That's how propaganda works.

You'll just need to pull out your handy, dandy gender identity card when approaching someone.

Sounds good if you believe these rankings are fair and accurate. In general I think the U.S. has the best health care on the planet but the most expensive. If the ranking includes a money factor then it is worth ignoring. I generally ignore things quoted from the internet. Perhaps we can agree that both Ireland and the U.S. have good health care. As for me, my life has been saved several times by our health care system. I'm fighting cancer at the moment and it is likely I will get through that as well thanks to good health care.

I don't disagree. I say that countries that allow the population to live freely are superior to those that do not. I doubt you disagree with that. Ireland is superior to North Korea or Nicaragua in that regard.

I don't think so. Comfort includes safety from external threats, enough food to eat, shelter from the elements, available transportation to travel where one wants to go. I think it is clear enough that the Irish live more comfortable lives than people in South Sudan. Wouldn't you agree? There are many many countries where comfort is more difficult to achieve than a modern industrialized place like Ireland.

And the funny thing is that public polling shows overwhelming support and acceptance for alternate lifestyles, yet shows disdain and outright hatred for the nomenclature nazi-ism comming from that.

    1. Do what you what to do with your life, as long as you don't force that upon me
    2. I will call you sir/ma'am/young man/young lady etc. But DON'T expect me to know your "pronouns" before you tell me, and to call you "me/them/they/fluid self"

Im OK with you doing what you want with your life, just don't expect me to change mine to suit YOU.
