Fair enough, Pixie. Again, my outrage was focused on the poor British taxpayer having to PAY for any of this idiocy, thanks to 'woke' sycophants in the BBC....
And who you think pays the license fees? Link: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Television_licensing_in_the_United_Kingdom
That's really skirting the question, because you are telling us who does not pay. I asked who does pay the licence (sic) fees that @philosophical brought up. I haven't seen his reply yet.
Anyone who wants to watch the BBC on a TV. Today many people watch media on their computer and avoid the fée.
But the UK has had a Digital Services Tax since 2020, and although it will undergo change next year, the charges are passed on to subscribers, aren't they?
Well in the history of the present Republic of Ireland they didn't. Doesn't this question depend on what is a 'country' and when it was formed?
How about the UK Digital Service Tax for those who get all their "content" that way? G. Harrison was right about the Taxman in GREAT Britain....
I've said this to you before, you better grow a thicker skin before you become a teacher; you're gonna get eaten alive. Oh, and according to Gallup, LGBT identification is at 5.6% - so if you really despise 94.4% of the population, you're really in trouble.
The definition: either of the two sexes (male and female), especially when considered with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones. With revisions supporting a liberal agenda: The term is also used more broadly to denote a range of identities that do not correspond to established ideas of male and female. "a condition that affects people of both genders" Either of two sexes, male and female. Interesting.
That's half the story, which is neither honest nor fair. Both countries have checkered histories, good and bad. My ancestors didn't immigrate to America because it was a Hell hole. They came here because it offered them a measure of hope, opportunity and freedom, and I am fortunate that they made the sacrifices they made so I could have a better life than they did. And not a day goes by that I'm not conscious of the fact this country is as free as it is because it is the offspring of England/Great Britain and the likes of William of Ockham, the Leveler quoted in my signature, Algernon Sydney and many others.
Just as there is physical sexuality and there are hermaphrodites who do not conform to this paradigm, there are people who do not conform to social paradigms of straight male and straight female. This is a reality that should be accepted and accommodated, because otherwise you're only attempting to impose your ideas on others for no good reason. Your not wanting there to be non-conformists will not alter the facts. All you will do is make others miserable, whereas accepting and embracing people for who they are in no way harms you.
You used the word "varied" in reference to the UK as a country, and "shameful" in reference to UK and USA's history - two different things.
Read it that way if you like. My point is both places are as bad as each other. Maybe not the worst, but in my view not the best.
My ideas? You mean the ideas for the past how many thousands of years? How old is the world and humanity? My children graduated from high school in this century and they were taught male and female. These are the facts and these are not "my ideas".
I despise bigots and those who would defend them. You can say whatever you want about thick skin. But I have tolerated bigots on this site for years. And it has not gotten better. Have you stood up for them like you would do for your students? No? Then shut the hell up about one should do.
