Regular 4 year Jim Beam is the best Booze for the money. However like I said in the original OP Early Times is really good for the money.
Well, up until a few years ago Newfie Screech would qualify. Apparently got it's name from when an American took a belt of the stuff (not expecting the 100% proof) and screeched. Gov't got involved in early 2002-2003 are scuttled it to 40% proof.
The best cheapest ways to get (*)(*)(*)(*)faced: Old Crow (The dirty bird) Mango Joose Oak Leaf Cab Sauv
I have Amber bock now I often buy Sam Adams or Shock Top or Black and tan. That with the Black cherry Jim Beam works for me
I like a Black and tan but gave up Beer a couple years ago to dedicate to Red Wine. Beer and Wine are not Hard Liquor.Even though EKU 28 could easily be seen as Very Hard.
Limoncello. You can make it yourself -- very tasty! Also makes a very good present, people are always amazed that you give them "home made booze". Not to mention it's delicious! If you want to be really economical, you can use the actual lemons (since you only need the skin for the limoncello) to make chicken-lemon! The Dutch article on Wikipedia on Limoncello provides a recipe, not so on the English page. All you need is: 5dl of 95% alcohol, 6dl of water, 375gr sugar, 5 à 6 lemons. From wikipedia: Step 1: => wait 4 à 6 weeks Step 2: Remove the skin and pour into bottles! Step 3:
Anyways,... It's pretty obvious here that I've got the cheapest booze here. My booze basically doesn't cost anything when you decide to make some awesome chicken with a creamy lemon-pine nut sauce!
oh goodness. I buy this and it isn't cheap considering. But what a great homemade gift that would make. Thanks.
Just recently started buying Goldschlager. for the looks not the taste. Goes great in Sangrias at christmas time especially.
... Comprendre = to understand HOWEVER, "comprendre" is an inregullar verb -- so watch out with the plurals. -------------------------- SINGLES: Je comprends tu comprends il/elle comprend PLURALS: ACHTUNG -- the "d" disappears in the root for the plurals! nous comprenons vous comprenez ils/elles comprennent So, Foolardi... I guess you tried to say: "Comprenez-vous?"
My lil' sister got drunk because of the cocktail sauce on New Year's eve when we were kids... We were doing fondue. BTW -- just normal fondue, so not that crazy kind of cheese fondue...
Also, worth mentioning... Yep, you got that right! If it weren't for us Dutch-speaking folks you wouldn't have Gin. Not to mention you wouldn't have the Panama canal either, or Presidents like the Roosevelts, the Bushes (...) or Van Buren! Anyways, I'm still a brat so I like it sweet... We are going on unfamiliar grounds here since there are translation troubles... In Dutch, a "cherry" is called "kers". A "sour cherry", however, is called "kriek". Like the beer. The literal English translation of "sour cherry" into Dutch would be "zure kers". The name alone in English suggest it is something bad. In my experience, "krieken" (or sour cherries) are awesome. They are used in all kinds of desserts, pastries, sauces, beer, and booze! Anyways, I wanted to say that I like "sour cherry" jenever and I also like cactus jenever -- yes, from the plant!
Gin to me is a dumb Booze.THE only thing smart about gin is the British seem to prefer it.Yet Brits are steeped in their stodgy traditions. Gin really doesn't involve much in the way of sophicticated distilling. In fact,of all the major Boozes,it's about the simplest in it's application of ingredients and distillation method. Scotch requires much care and aging and use of the most highly respected provincial ingredients in order to refine with that peat flavor.Cognac is only made in the certain region of France and is a Double distillation using high quality copper stills and then aged. Bourbon likewise.Canadian Whisky is similar. Rum is more basic and I don't care for the taste of Rum. I used to like Tequilla. Therefore would be tempted to try the designer Tequliia available today. I drink Vodka but don't actually like the taste. On the rocks, yes. But not straight.I just Love Cognac, however. Even Bourbon.I would never put Coke in with Bourbon.Or Cognac.Blacks like Henessey and Coke.Blacks also like Gin. Shots of Gin with their beer.Doesn't go together at all. Could help explain why blacks have a notorious reputation for not handling their Booze. They tend to drink stupid. Is something like Night Train or MD 2o/20 be considered a booze. I guess. It's fortified.Port might be considered a Booze. But I tend to not link it so. Booze has to be higher proof.
Well, I'm young so I don't drink any "sterke drank" ("strong drinks") pure, except for tequila when doing a couple of shots to get in the mood... Foolardi,... a dumb booze. Anyways, I think anyone should always have a bottle of Gin and Vodka at home. You can entertain the female and gay part of the population with vokda-apple juice, vodka-orange, gin-gini -- or your straight pals with a vodka-red bull or something. For some strange reason they all like that one... But you can also entertain your papa when he is in town with a gin-tonic or something. From when I was a kid, it was my job to provide the "apéritif" on saturdays and sundays... I mostly buy Gordon's for at home, although when I go out and the point is to get hammered, and not to enjoy, I just buy the discount brands (€4 à €6/bottle). As for Vodka, I just buy what is offered with a discount at the supermarket...
BTW -- I think Americans have a funny/strange attitude towards drinking. Every club/hotel/bar or sometimes even restaurants (!) have "happy hours". Every establishment that takes itself serious doesn't have an happy hour IMO. Sure, it depends on which crowd is your main market, but still... Happy hours often attract not a nice bunch of people... You just hope that, because of the booze, they turn into a nice crowd...
I dunno. In College the very first time I heard TGIF {Thank God It's Friday} was on Fridays and all the local bars were in competition with their Happy Hours.I was fortunate to attend a party college. Playboy ranked Dayton U. { a Catholic University } as THE #1 party college in the country.I quickly learned why my very first weekend on campus. Then the following weekends when every Frat had huge parties with kegs aplenty on their front porches to attract pledges. Bars like Timothy's and The Cashba.Alexander's and the Moonlight. Little bars like Dottie's.I think Timothy's was the best.I ended up living about a 100 yards away my senior year. TGIF's eventually became a firstclass national restaurant chain. I loved to get plastered at TGIF's in Louisville in the 80's.
