I do not see how this is a bad thing. In my opinion it’s a win win. We get funding to Ukraine who needs it and we need to back them up in my opinion. I have always been a fan of supporting them. I think we should support them even more personally.

Then on top of that we get better border security. Even if we boot Biden out of power giving this authority to a president is a good thing. If Biden gets this authority then still allows the flow of illegals it’s clearly on him. I think this is literally two wins in one package.

I thought for sure this would be a good topic. Why wouldn’t we support this bill?

No thanks to draining our treasury and risking WW3 for our elites' business arrangements in Ukraine.

No thanks to more laws on immigration that Biden can simply choose not to enforce.

They don't know what's in the deal...but knows enough tidbits that it provides incentives for illegals to cross over and Biden Administration has shown zero evidence of wanting to shut down the border even utilizing the tools currently available. Perhaps it should be read first.

And Ukraine has nothing to do with our current emergency. Mixing the two show a lack of concern for our border.

It seems like a good start for the border.

Helping Ukraine is a given. Absurd that some in the US don't see Russia as a threat. Look at their behaviour and their history.

They’re not an immediate threat but waiting for them to expand before dealing with them would be a bad idea and that’s why I support it.

What is the best border control measure this bill offers?

Agreed. A latent or a potential threat. And it doesn't even need to be a direct threat. It could be as simple as messing up Europe and causing high oil prices and/or global economic recession.

It’s amazing how military operations do as a complete matter of fact ensure cheap and reliable trade.

To the highlighted point, I do somewhat agree. We also must not forget the total neglect at the border for the last 3 years. However, starting later rather than now could also have detrimental effects. We have military aged men from hostile countries poring across the border. Waiting for an election that may not go how you want it to anyway is no way to deal with an active crisis. I full heartedly support this bill for what I understand of it so far.

reading it first like others have said is also a necessity but there is absolutely no reason to call it dead on arrival as of yet.

I so disagree. Starting with this is not starting at all. All it does if the rumors are correct with providing fast citizenship...is make the situation more dire. Commonsense would spell out that if Biden doesn't use his current tools now...he won't use his future tools later.

Trump got caught with his hand in the Ukraine cookie jar, the right wants to erase that memory - thus erase Ukraine

I think Biden had his hand in the Ukraine cookie jar. After all he was the one that influenced the politics in Ukraine by advocating to fire people who were investigating his son. I actually have often wondered if Biden is doing this aid to keep their mouths shut because usually democrats are not the ones who historically do things like military aid.

Obama was very reluctant to give them aid and watch from the side as Crimea was taken from Ukraine. Clinton influenced them to give their nuclear weapons to Russia. Democrats have never ever had a hand in military aid to these countries.

on the other hand Reagan gave military aid to many countries and influenced the protection of oil trade with our presence in the seas of the Middle East. Bush sr was obviously about military assistance to countries as well. And Bush jr likewise pushed military expansion for trade and other countries freedoms. He even forgave 7.1 billion in military aid to Egypt. Trump gave more aid than Obama to Ukraine militarily.

What Biden is doing is actually a very conservative type approach to military use. And it is most definitely a swing away from a traditional liberal military approach. So one has to ask why?

One only needs to look at the Russian Facebook postings and see that they did nothing for Trump. As well the majority of the postings came AFTER the election.

????? The bill legitimizes 5,000 illegal immigrants a day. 1.8 million a year.

Although Ukraine is not in the title it is featured in the opening post, so...

The war in Ukraine is against our best interests, and is a war Russia did not want to get involved in -
they are busy trying to fix their own country and have plenty of Natural Gas themselves,
and the war in Ukraine is not in Ukraine's best interests either.
