my state has a republican governor, 2 republican senators, and 3 of the 4 congress members are republican..

and the vaccine rollout is a joke....

no place to sign up or get on a list and a very abstract webpage filled with useless information

    but the kicker is this

in group ONE the prison inmates get a vaccine before law abiding citizens

maybe I should break a law and get thrown in jail just to get a vaccine

Trump's Covid-19 task force coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx granted an in-depth interview with Margaret Brennan of CBS. Portions aired on "Face the Nation" Sunday morning, and the full 89-minute interview is now online in both video and text form. Among the many newsworthy bits: She says she almost never saw or spoke with Trump. She says he was getting a "parallel set of data and graphics" that she wasn't privy to. Brennan asked if it was "disinformation" but Birx didn't answer.

Americans are dying at the rate of over 3,000 a day; WTF was sleepy Joe elected for? Whuts he doing, sleeping on the job? He’s been in power for over 2 weeks now, we should be well on our way to the bright and happy future!

I guess, he’s what we thought he’d be.

Florida Governors cannot be recalled, despite much interest in doing so. But if your bar for Pres Biden is set so low you're claiming 'mission accomplished' over a limp mask mandate for areas that already had mask mandates then, well, I guess you're not much better than all the Republican officials/voters and their inaction.

"But Birx didn't answer." What happened to, "the scientists TOLD us?"

Fauci specifically mentioned hydroxychloroquine. We all know that Trump was talking nonsense about that, but what policy decisions did it affect?

How exactly did Trump "substitute the scientists?"

None of this changes the fact that Fauci WAS originally against the masks. So Trump's claim that Fauci was against the masks is 100% correct!

While the pandemic was evolving and scientists were making it clear that some measures were necessary to contain and limit it ... President Trump acted in a way that undermined the work of the scientists. He substantially substituted them with his wrong example. So wrong that he got Covid-19 [and after he recovered, thanks to medicines that weren't available for all, he kept on showing wrong behaviors].

Trump used a bit the trick that lawyers use when they play with words.
Fauci wasn't against the usage of masks, he knew masks were and are essential. He simply said [like WHO and many others] that it wasn't necessary for the whole population. I remember that during the early phase of the pandemic in Italy authorities said that only persons with symptoms had to wear a mask [not understanding, because it wasn't clear yet, that also persons without symptoms can be contagious]. Being of the sector of emergency, I agreed with that [on the base of the knowledge of the moment], even if I suspected it wasn't enough [thinking that not all the persons with light symptoms were going to wear a mask, it was anyway better to make all wear it].

Bayoneting those found without masks, as satisfying as it might be to the sane among us, is generally thought to be counterproductive.

If making Trump feel better is worth your dying an agonizing death there really isn't much anyone can do.

Except Pres Biden campaigned hard on a mask mandate and taking on Republican state/cities that weren't handling their business. But then he got in office and so far the only things hes done has been writing a bogus mask mandate for places that essentially already had them and fabricating a myth that 'he had no vaccine distribution plan'.

to avoid to wear a mask ... if someone suggests that you should wear a mask, but your leader doesn't wear a mask ... or when he wears it he takes any occasion to remove it as soon as possible ... probably you will follow the example of your leader.

Then, when he got SARS-Cov-2 and he developed Covid-19 he had transported to a structure where military doctors gave him special drugs [when they weren't available for the whole population]. He recovered and ... [this has been a difference between him and the British Prime Minister, just to say] he didn't change attitude towards the pandemic. I can understand electoral reasons [he had decided to run a campaign which targeted a well selected part of the American population], but that wasn't the behavior of a statesman.

Dumbest quote on the forum today. Care to enlighten us how a politician is better informed than a subject matter expert? With your logic Elon Musk should have Ted Cruz over his engineering group. SMH at the amount if ignorance on this forum.

I would hardly call that substituting the scientists!

More than half of the country didn't see Trump as their "leader."

Ok. But if you are a leader and you are aware that 1/2 country follows you ... eh ... you should spend at least a thought [just one thought, no more than that] about being an example.

On Italian TV news Biden is missing ... [Trump was well more present].
May be this is also due to the fact that we are changing government [Italians change government like women change shoes, you know ...], anyway I've heard something about his speech about the state of the nation, but no details.

I have to find the time to check US networks [my job and an American history forum are making me a bit busy].
