OK, so, let's think about them, my score for the picks.

Kamala Harris - I don't get this one. Apparently not even African Americans like her. The Dem electorate soundly rejected her in the primaries. She is from a state that is Biden's anyway. Was nasty to Biden. Very opportunistic. Why pick her and why is she being called a frontrunner? 3

Susan Rice - Seems competent to me, might be well-prepared to step in; will bring back the whole Benghazi thing but I do think only the people who are already committed to a Trump vote care about Benghazi. Could be a decent choice. No experience with campaigns or elected office, though. 8

Karen Bass - Another one I don't get. Scientology??? Fidel Castro's death was a great loss??? Also from California, why pick her at all? 1

Elizabeth Warren - This one makes a bit more sense in terms of keeping the far-left and ultra-progressive wing of the party motivated to vote for the ticket. But she is all over the place, confused and confusing, old, not very likable, and a huge target for Trump with the Pocahontas thing. 5

Val Demings - Could be an interesting pick. Law enforcement background might counter Trump's claim that Biden wants to defund the police. Might deliver Florida. Overall not a bad pick. No national name recognition, though. 7

Gretchen Whitmer - Picking a white woman who is not Elizabeth Warren (who at least keeps in the far left votes) is likely to piss off the black voters, for no gain. If it's not a woman of color, then it makes more sense to pick Warren. And I don't know if she'd deliver Michigan; maybe the opposite; aren't the people in Michigan pretty irritated with her? Probably a bad pick. 4

Tammy Duckworth - Might be interesting as she could attract moderate voters who are fans of the US Military. Good at attacking Trump. Downsides include having been born abroad, we wouldn't stop hearing about false claims that she is not eligible, and some think she is still a bit light weight in policy. 6

So, IMHO I think it should be Rice or Demings. Rice, because she seems to be the best prepared one to take the job if Biden dies or gets incapacitated; not a bad way to pick a veep: someone who can be president if need be. Demings because she might turn around the whole narrative that the Dems will bring about anarchy and disorder and will defund the police, robbing Trump of his favorite attack ad; he'll have to find something else. And if she delivers Florida, Trump is toast. Also, Demings has no big downside, so it's the Do No Harm idea, which is one of the ways to pick a veep (unlike what McCain did).

I'm afraid it will be Harris, though, which is my second least preferred one after the dead last Bass. I think Harris will be a big, big mistake. But the Dems are mistake-prone, so...

That'll give her two jobs she only thought she was going to fill.

Of the above mentioned names, All are lying duplicitous scum bags who happen to be female all are party hacks of the left to extreme left. And none will do or ever have done anything that will make this country a better place.

On the other hand Biden won't look any worse standing next to them.

 

If I was Biden, and thank god I am not, I'd pick Rice-but that choice also suggests Biden is just an extension of the Obama administration. On a sad (and likely) level, Joe wants that. But it could turn off some, particularly as the younger woke crowd is not a fan of Obama these days and Biden needs those votes.

 

It was supposed to be announced last week. I'm tired of waiting. I'm to the point that my give-a-crap on that has run out of battery power. All these weeks of suspense have been seriously overhyped.

Just pick one, Joe. They are all great choices.

Because all the rest are so bad I would like to see Demmings although she served as one of the impeachment managers. She doesn't have much about policy on her website but she doesn't seem a leftist/socialist politician compared to the others.

It means he can't figure out what to do since he doesn't have very attractive candidates and race has been so injected into it let alone the sexism.

On the contrary, it looks more and more like Biden will win, and if he does, his VP pick will likely be the next POTUS, the first woman. That's a pretty good wagon, in my opinion.

 

None of these women are nincompoops. I am disappointed that Abrams is no longer on the list, though. Whip smart, that woman. I like her.

 

I was a fan of Abrams as well, but my hope is for Susan Rice.

 

Yup Willy Brown actually told his former play thing Kamala Harris not to accept a VP slot, but rather the AG. When Biden sinks she would have more options in the future.

Yes, it would turn off blacks, and people who aren't thrilled she posed as native American.

Incidentally she never apologized for that, only for taking the DNA test.

 

Anyone who is persuaded by "the Pocahontas thing" does the US a disservice by virtue of their sophomoric stupidity. That was not an endorsement of Warren.

 

Rice and Biden already have a working relationship, so I'm going with her.

 

Rice is a good choice. Smart, articulate, has national security cred, and will be able to authoritatively rebutt all the lies regarding "Obamagate." Plus, she will shred the religiod wind up toy, the robotic sycophant known as Mike Pence.

 

She was the fall guy for Obama numerous times. That includes Benghazi and Obamagate. She's not particularly bright but she knows how to fall in line.

That also suggests the DNC wants a 2nd up puppet in case Biden bites the dust.

Short term, what states would she help Biden to win that aren't already solidly blue?

 

And she'll get eaten alive. We are just now getting the information and evidence of what the Obama WH including her were up to using federal law enforcement resources and agents to go after a political opponent knowing there was no basis for what they were claiming and what was being put before the court and the Congress and the American People and that doesn't even touch on her Benghazi lie campaign.

 

This made me laugh out loud. I suppose you think she is skinny too.
