    A portent of November.

Trump, Pence, Junior Trump, and Ivanka Trump all scrambled to Pennsylvania to frenetically campaign for Rick "Trump before Trump was Trump!” Saccone.

Joe Biden gave the nod to Conor Lamb.

Conor Lamb owes his victory to Joe Biden ... and to Trump, Pence, Junior Trump, and Ivanka Trump.

    Contrive whatever excuses you require.

Is Lamb the cartoon version of a Democrat fantasists need to conjure up?

Nope. He's the type of Democrat that represents Democrats of the 18th Congressional District of Pennsylvania.

After the 18th District dramatically affirmed its abandonment of Trumpery, the GOP is reconsidering its strategy for November.

Tax policy most logically influence revenue not spending so in measuring the impact of tax cuts it makes sense to look at revenue and not deficits

I don't separate the two, the deficits are a function of revenues AND spending. Increase revenues, especially as the tax rate cuts did, and restrain spending increases and you create surpluses or very low deficits.

Logically they are separate. What you do in terms of increasing or decreasing revenue has little to do with how much you spend. Among other things the politics are totally different in the two decisions. Many who support tax cuts support high spending for example. The first is a conservative policy, the second is supposed to be liberal although since Reagan this is not generally so. Reagan requested significant increases in spending each year, Clinton actually reduced spending increases (largely by cutting military spending).

I have a dream that one day a big, beautiful WALL will rise up, and Mexico will pay for it!

Crass hucksterism has a limited shelf life. That gawdawful stench that arises instead of a fantasy wall is an undeniable clue.

The real question is how Republicans will win the votes of minorities and younger women. If they they have little political future

It is difficult for even "rising stars" of the GOP to endure the stench of trumpery that is pervading the Party.
