As Moore's inability to discredit his several accusers has demonstrated - despite Moore's wife's fake insistence that it would be shown that they were all paid by some unknown person or persons organizing such a conspiracy - fixating on the least inconsistency in one account was a far better strategy than attempting to refute all the coherent, consistent accounts from individuals with nothing to gain by lying - vs Moore's transparent motivation for doing so.

They need to keep railing about the one aspect to drown out the weight of common testimony.

It seems obvious, even to the un-trained eye, that there are two types of handwritings there. It is also quite easy to say which is which.
