I don't think that there is anyone who is arguing for technology to REPLACE agents is there?

What about the difference safety wise?

As far as I know, no one has argued for that. So, what is your point?
Much safer to keep them from crossing the border at all. Thus a wall.

If you were actually interested instead of just pretending to be you'd take a paragraph such as the following in the link I gave you and follow up on it in oder to meet your supposed standards instead of asking others to do so.

"According to FBI tables, property crimes in El Paso have plunged more than 37 percent to 12,357 from their pre-fence peak of 19,702 a year, while violent crimes have dropped more than 6 percent to 2,682 from a peak of 2,861 a year."

I was talking about the NBPS survey story, not the El Paso story that you linked to. Anyway, now that you mention the FBI tables, I see no reason why the author couldn't have linked to the data on FBI.gov or Justice.gov, where I'm almost certain that the data would exist.

My point is that there is nothing wrong with having technology. It seemed like you think there is.

I thought that you were saying that technology put the border agents and illegals at risk. When I said that technology would merely alert border patrol to the presence of illegal, you said:

If you are truly interested you'd do a little research of your own on all the various numbers and statistics cited in the link provided instead of demanding to be spoon fed.

Sure, but I see no reason why authors can't link to data for the sake of their readers convenience.
