FYI, the boy scouts are not political. Yet another false accusation!!

 

Kindly point out which of those laws say you won't accept gay among the rank? And as far as loyalty goes, you have already tossed an organization you once belong to under the bus because you are disagreeing with them, used them to your advantage, and now tossing them under the bus.

 

And the charter organization would be begging for a lawsuit.

 

Why? I was in long before the lefty appeasement.

The same people who appreciate the achievement understand this.

I met a former POTUS and mentioned I was also an Eagle Scout, he gave me a pat on the shoulder and a look of understanding.

It meant something.

 

No..it is utterly meaningless with your current attitude. If you are so ashamed of the BSA, then quit being hypocritical and give up your Eagle Scout title.

 

Membership is growing and they aren't about to file for bankruptcy.

 

I earned the title, just as I earned my professional titles.

That's just a repeat of the same empty rant in your OP, you ignored the point of my reply. Lots of other scout associations and indeed other youth organisations have made the same changes you're objecting to without failing so they can't be the simple singular cause of all the BSA's problems as you suggest.

For example, one key thing those other organisations didn't have to suffer was as many people like you.

 

No. I've researched the claim in the past and haven't found that it can survive scrutiny.

Oh...I know more than you think. You have a very narrow understanding of what an Eagle Scout represents. Hint: It's not all about those merit badges.

 

The charter organization have to abide by the BSA rules and regulations or they will be shut down or be on their own when a lawsuit hit for discrimination.

 

When I think of Eagle Scouts, merit badges don't enter my mind.

 

They don't abide by the PC agenda. Still don't take gay leaders. And their membership is growing.

Tell me...how many scout laws have you violated with your current attitude towards gays, and girls in the BSA? An true Eagle Scout would try to uphold the ideals of scouting.

 

Saw it on my news feed. How sad. The Boy Scouts was such an important of of boys lives when I grew up and when my boys were growing up. It was a place where boys could be boys and learn to be boys and leaders and men.

 

And if one should want to join and your charter organization refuse, they will be sued and be on their own since the BSA have said otherwise. Shortly their after, the BSA will revoke your charter organization membership.

 

It's not the gays that were allowed in that destroyed the Boy Scouts. It's the gays that snuck in to molest boys that destroyed the Boy Scouts.

 

I think it's largely effected by the Mormon church disassociating with it.

Hmm no, and I didn't claim I did. However any organization that deals with minors has a hyper-awareness of their vulnerability to sexual abuse when they have children in their charge. And of course that's a definite legal liability. Makes sense why, in the era when it was considered normal, that there would be an actual policy prohibiting homosexuals from positions that have direct contact with minors in settings where they would only be supervised by those Boy Scout leaders. Recall why there is even a bankruptcy in the first place:

Is that proof? No. Is it telling? Yes.

 

Both you and the OP got the highest award. I managed some of the merit badges but have to rely on my grandson who also became an Eagle. Though he is still a young man, close to graduating college, that award and all it means will be of help to him all of his life. And he will be a better human being for being in the BSA.

Today I would not recommend it to young boys. That by the way is what I believe democrats hoped for in that I believe their hope was to destroy the boy scouts. Something will replace them.
