It's impossible to separate being gay from having sex? Please explain that, and while you're at it, explain how that differs for the heterosexuals in the Boy Scouts. Should we just disband the boy scouts altogether because there will be sex involved no matter what as you put it? Or is it just homosexuality that can't be separate from sex? Heterosexuality can, but not homosexuality?

Because it is a social standard that has been time honored and proven and has never failed. Nazui germany and Soviet Russia used homosexuals to affect change, and ultimate destruction in both cases. The same will happen here. It is history.

    And....time's up.

Once again, as is your general MO, you have dodged the question. Nothing about your reply quoted above answers any part of the question of what makes morality absolute.

If this is indeed your answer, you're going to have to elaborate on why you think people(and not even every person, but only some people) doing something a certain way for a long time equals that being absolute. Is slavery absolute? Arranged marriages? How about no rights for women at all? Those are all social constructs that existed(and still do in some places) for quite a long time, but have all gone the way of the dodo in most civilized societies. Either you're saying that we're doing it wrong NOW, or you're saying that absolute does not actually mean absolute, but is instead relative to the morality of the people involved. If something can be changed, it is not absolute. Death is absolute. Matter is absolute. Social constructs, including morality, are not.

Would you like to try again or concede defeat?

And east is west, the sky is green and pigs fly :alcoholic:

You're not a liberal, you're a freedom hating authoritarian from what I gather. Tell me what "liberal" stances you have on social policies?

And gays aren't responsible for the actions of anyone you regard as a "homosexual pedophile". Point is though if Milk's actions were so reprehensible to you that you feel the need to frequently talk about it as a moral issue, how about the ONGOING MORAL ISSUE? AoC laws are a political matter (unlike the BSA decision, whose members care not for the political spin you and your ilk are applying to the situation), and yet I can guarentee on this forum for expressing views on political issues you haven't said a single thing about the fact the vast majority of states unashamedly allow 16 year olds to be "abused". Just north of you is a state where it's happening every day, completely legally. Where's the moral outrage?!

You claim moral absolutionism but actually you have no problem with faux or inconsistent moral outrage.

"IF your belief system is Christianity". I never said it was.

Generally people with solid moral views need a "guide" for those views, which for most tends to be a religious text of some kind. And vast majority of religious people in the US are Christian. Spare me your BS.

The Nazis and the Soviets never tolerated or accepted homosexuality. It was the complete opposite. You seem to be saying homosexuality brought about their downfall??

You must be smoking something really good.

    who mentioned pedophilia?

But, since you opened that can let's discuss things which have appeared in other threads all with linked facts

96.8% of the adult population engages in heterosexual sex. The remainder of 3.2% is for all other sexual practices including cross dressers.

over 1/3 of all pedophiles admit to engaging in gay sex

It was estimated in 2008 that there were 228 million adults. That means that 220,704,000 people have straight sex

that leaves 7,296,000 for all of the other abnormal sexual acts but let's go big and count all of that as being gay.

let's use a low number of 33% as gay pedophiles of ALL pedophiles and 7 million people account for 33% of pedophilia while 221 million account for the other 66%

yes, there are more hetero pedophiles but the stats clearly show a proclivity for gays to be pedophiles. There is a higher degree of probability that a gay male would be a pedophile than a straight male. the ratio of straight to gay is 32 straight people for every 1 gay person. But, the ratio of straight pedophiles to gay pedophiles is 2 to 1, not 32 to 1.

those are staggering figures and parents may not speak of it but they do take actions because of it.

The statistics and studies only support the view that more pedophiles are homosexual or bisexual in their orientation towards children. Not that people with adult homosexual attraction are more likely to abuse.

Whether you believe they are telling the truth or not, the majority of men who abuse boys identify as heterosexual in everyday life. *cough*Jerry Sandusky*cough*, and so, a ban on openly gay people in leadership positions in organisations like the BSA makes no sense, because openly gay people aren't any more likely to abuse than "openly straight" people.

The reasoning may make sense to you - "well obviously allowing gay men to be alone with boys will increase the chances of them being abused!", but it doesn't weather the statistics. When scouting organisations in other countries decided to allow openly gay scout leaders and volunteers, they didn't see an increase in the number of molestation incidents. There's no information anywhere suggesting it did, not even from right-wing sources who enjoy doing their homework.

Now you're getting it. Gay isn't gay without sex. Ever met an effeminate man who's asexual? He's not necessarily gay eh?

Right. So a 50 year old morbidly obese virgin who self-pleasures to lesbian porn at least thrice a day isn't actually heterosexual. Gotcha.

    Thank you.

You have just disqualified yourself from this debate because you have freely admitted that you don't know a (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) thing about sexuality. You should probably stick to topics that you have a working knowledge of.

oooooh make believe time. I wanna play!

There is no such thing family values. It is an arrogant attempt by arrogant people to force their beliefs on everyone else, and make those people feel guilty because they do not think the same way.

Oh, and to steal a line from your debate playbook, I'm right because I'm right! Case closed, end of story.

(Uh oh. What happens when two people who are right because they are right disagree? Is this the unraveling of the entire universe? Is this the rapture!? I should have listened to Doc Brown)

    Fail. Nay, utter success.
