We've heard the Paleos' case for four decades and nobody is buying it.

 Take note that the fascists in the Knesset are so worried that they've tried to pass legislation against boycotting them.

Your remark got me curious, so I googled and googled, and was not able to find a single reference to paleo being a racist term, or even being mentioned together in the same sentence with Palestine... please provide reference, 'cos I kinda like the word and may take to use it myself :)

You will, just as soon as the spiders clock this thread. Here's your opportunity to reject its use- or be further associated with the unacceptable.

    Ooops, too late.

So, what you're saying is that Taxcutter has just coined a new term? I'll consider your suggestion, if you'll tell me why the use of it seems to be racist to you?

Well now, if you can induce the poster to affirm that he uses the term because the indigenous inhabitants of Palestine have been there since the Paleolithic then he'd have scored a point for Palestinians. On the other hand he'd be required to produce an alternative explanation if that wasn't his intent.

Has nothing to do with poster. But if you will stop using the term "fascist" in conjunction with Israel or Zionism, I will not not consider the term paleo in conjunction with Palestine. Deal? :)

Personally, I probably would not consider 'paleo', to be racist, in isolation.

However, given the posting history of the person that used it, in his case, I would say it was intended as such, or to be derogatory, for sure.

However it is said, it merely shows a certain ignorance by the person using it, imo. Like, you could argue that the term 'Paki' is not, strictly speaking, racist. But everyone I know who would use the term is a racist.

I personally will call Jews out, as and when, but I would not resort to ****, albeit you could argue that is not racist either.

I am Scottish. I would not give a toss if someone called me a 'Scot', or a 'Jock' (as some English do, tediously). Would not phase me, has no impact. My mum is Maltese. Again, if someone said 'Maltese bastard', or some deviation of it, the only part that would bother me is the bastard part.

Maybe it is because Scotland and Malta have never had any real negative associations?

What a silly suggestion. Zionism is a political doctrine based upon ethnic cleansing. ' Palestinian ' isn't a political term.

That's it in a nutshell and the racists know it. It's racist by implication and association depending on the context and intent.

Don't you think this all gets a bit silly though?

I mean, when the word 'Jew' can be deemed racist, it's just stupid, also, what do you do at live comedy events, have someone stationed all over, to always ensure Context Thought Laws? And who is then this flawless person(s), that is given the god title to decide context, I mean, different people can choose to hear something, in a different context, as well as say it, right?

Yeah they can but that applies equally across the board. I mean many blacks refer to other blacks using the N word, and that's acceptable to a clique within the circle of people who use it. But that wouldn't be the same as if a white KKK member used that term.

I think it was Abu who recently re-told a Jewish joke that he heard on Jews Telling Jokes and I think it was Dutch who complained that he was being racist. To me that's absurd, given the context.

    It's not the same.

Saying black would be = to saying Jew.

    Saying **** would be = to (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*).

'Jew' is totally abstract, unless of course the other person considers it a negative, no?
