I was going to agree with you, that this was terribly irresponsible, until I read @The Mello Guy 's post #2, which quotes from later in the article, which says that he had stayed involved in major decisions, was mostly just off-line for 4 weeks, and has been ramping up since then. This sort of thing-- misrepresenting your links-- can really destroy a person's credibility. Though perhaps it just shows a lack of interpretive discrimination, on your part; that is, as soon as you'd read, "paternity leave," your mind may have made come to its verdict, and been unaffected by anything else, essentially closed off to any new information, to at all modify your initial assumptions. I have experienced this sort of single-mindedness of perspective, from you, in other threads.

All that said, I don't know how much Secretary Buttigeig can do, in either of these situations. Hopefully, he can at least find ways to ease the supply-line problems but, with a global supply-chain, that is easier said than done. As far as the infrastructure negotiations in Congress, I don't see that he has the ability to help move things; but, again, he should be doing whatever is possible (perhaps finding ways to cut costs of some items?). I don't suppose your article goes into what he could be doing? But I'll look at it, anyway, eventually.
