Can I plz get a leg up on referring to images in my posts. I know some basics.

I just hit the box that says upload a file that is directly below what I am typing now.

I see three boxes... Post reply, upload a file, more options...

 

The old “Camel Cigarettes” I know the filthiest joke about that, should I? Well, at least you will get the joke and few others will.

A young innocent girl was out on a first date with her surfer boyfriend whom she had met at a scuba diving class. She opened the glovebox and a whole stack of condoms fell out.

Uh-oh. There are six specific sites that can be the source of media you want placed in your post and I don't use any of them. But I am fine with copying my image and pasting it directly in and if it's too too large I've found I can Ctrl-Z and it is removed -- but a choice appears for me to opt for a mere thumbnail. My problem is solved alright but things are still a mite dizzying.

Yes, many avenues to the same goal. I am overwhelmed. That method just cited is how I got my staircase picture in, and it allowed it to go inline with text. So complex, arghh!

 

I've seen old advertisements that say that 9 out of 10 doctors agree that camels are best.

I sometimes splurge on a pack of the camel non filters but they're getting hard to find and they're a bit over $10 a pack.

I take mine raw, without the filter.

 

I normally use just generics. In 2016 I quit and went to vaping. In late 2022 I relapsed; again, just Basics, and not very many per day. Now, ever since the missus is gone (not deceased but WORSE, not kidnapped but WORSE still: ...Shanghaied !!), I practically chain smoke (I see the doc this AM at 8:15 sharp). I recently reunited with a good old buddy o' mine and he smokes Camels exclusively. The ashtray I bought on eBay is for his use at my domicile. And I buy some for myself too. You're right: they're just too expensive and buddy Tim can't really afford them. Alas!

 

I usually smoke 305 non filters . Need to quit but then I'd need a new habit...I mean hobby.

I imagine there are scant few here still using Microsoft PC. I discovered an interesting trick with any of the myriad M/S PC OS's. Yes, it's redundant, so what. Paste your image (either Ctrl-V or use the right-click contextual menu) into your post. But uh hold on -- it's freakin' HUGE! Then type Ctrl-Z (it's tantamount to UNDO) and your insertion goes away. But it leaves a residual: a box where you can still elect to paste either the full image or just a thumbnail. ... very handy to know!

 

Believe it or not, I probably know less than you about this kind of thing, since some of what you just said, went be a little over my head. But I'll tell you what I do, in case it helps. I just use my phone. I hold on an image and usually that gives me a choice of options,including "download image," which I do. If an option shows upon my screen, to "open," I do so, then hit the triangular or something icon for "link." I choose the option of my photos.

Then, when I'm on PF & hit "Upload a File," it brings me to my pics, and select the desired image from there.

Now lete ask you: do you know what the deal is, with those little icons of pictures or paintings? They never open for me.

 

Just use snipping tool (comes with any windows version, already pre-downloaded on your computer), snip your image. Right click image, copy. Then "paste" image into the text box. No need to go through image hosting.

 

I post images to my FB wall and make it so I’m the only one who can see. I think open that image and copy the link or picture, depending if I’m using my PC or IPad.

I too have been using computers forever. Our first was a homemade job my dad built in the mid/late 70’s - 8” floppy on the left was the OS and 8” floppy on the right was the software.

Is your PC windows? You can just use a snip tool and copy / paste right into the chat box.

 

I dont think I understand what you're trying to do. When I post from my PC, I can drag and drop an image file into the text box and the file inserts into the text. It cant get much easier than that
