A Presidential administration is not a novel. We WANT boring in politics, it indicates there are no difficulties and things are running smoothly. "May you live in interesting times" is regarded by the Chinese as a curse.

 

That's the criticism, that 'certain criteria' is needed, which reflects the fact that the tests are being rationed, which reflects that Trump is dragging his feet allowing states to get them, because he thinks that more testing will produce more cases which will make him look bad and thus hinder his reelection chances.

The only thing I can hope out of this is that we end the Republican Party as a viable political influence in this country. It is utter madness to me that we continue to tolerate this baleful entity in our midst after this.

If what you say is true, then the whole of conservatism has been petulant for the last several decades. It's one of my main problems with the whole movement. People are losing their life's savings over political activities, going to jail, or conversely gaining whole careers and making their fortunes. It is the warp and weft of life itself, the very essence of serious business, yet a major criticism of pols on both sides is that they are "boring". What the Bloody F**k. This is LIFE not a ****** episode of Sailor Moon.

And what about those positive cases with no symptoms? Do we know for certain they would not be modern Typhoid Marys carrying the disease to others, who would be more affected?

I was quoting the article which had that as the title, though I did agree with it.

However, if there is evidence is negligence resulting in much more deaths than need be, and I think that fact is clear, we can legitimately call him a killer, or negligent homicide, something of this nature. It will bother Trump fans, but, since their heads are in the proverbial sand, not much I can do about, except bring inconvenient truth to their attention.

 

If Trump himself found a cure for Covid-19 you would criticize him for not doing it sooner

Two dumb questions (dumb because the answers are obvious) don't constitute what a moderately intelligent person (or above) would consider "a point".

I still have no idea what your point is. I have no idea what 30% I'm "ignoring". If they're asymptomatic, and they haven't been tested, that means we don't know who they are. Solution: everybody not wearing a mask in a public place should get a big fat fine (at least... maybe even arrested) As for the protesters, I wish they weren't out in the streets during a pandemic. But I see no other way in which they would have obtained all the progress they have achieved in the last 2 months otherwise. If you can tell me another way, I'd be happy to hear it. I do think they should wear a mask too. If authorities think they can hand out citations in the middle of a peaceful protest with tens of thousands of participants, power to them! But keep a low profile or they could start a riot.

It's a matter of not acting stupidly.
