We have a free-market economy in the U.S., which means you get what you EARN. If you are worth much to society, you earn more accordingly. If you are worth little or nothing, the same factor applies.

This has nothing to do with race. We all have known wealthy, successful people of ALL races and 'mixtures', and, honestly, today there are more WHITE people on government welfare than those of any other race! Look it up.

There are people with almost nothing around the world in much worse poverty conditions than blacks in the US.

When the poor have easy access to guns, there is bound to be violence.

Except that in France, a massacre like the one at the Bataclan happens once every 50 years.

In the US, it happens once every 2-3 years.

Almost all American mass murderers are lone wolves who wouldn't have the contacts to buy assault rifles if they were illegal.

 

DIY guns can easily be made from scratch from materials available at Home Depot.

speaking of the poor. Let’s look at poor nations. How well gun control stopped their violence.

Liberia for example has a complete ban on guns. Only the government can own them. Yet their murder rate per million people is still twice as high as ours. This stands to reason that banning guns will not stop the poor from murdering.

Likewise Chicago has very strict gun laws yet the amount of illegal guns used there is crazy. Those gun laws don't seem to be helping them either. Making laws to restrict the ownership of firearms does not stop people from getting them

 

Canada has not spent a century systematically encouraging the social breakdown of it's major cities.
"Progress" has been slower in Canada.

 

I highly disagree. The US owns more than half of the worlds civilian owned firearms. If you were to ban them today I guarantee you will never round them all up and the black market for them would be huge. Our culture would never give up firearms legal or not. He definitely would have gotten one.

 

Uh...Canadians have PRIVILEGES, Americans have RIGHTS....obviously something no longer taught in American schools.

If we are being honest about the 2nd Amendment, the Federalist Papers tell us that the intent was to allow U.S. Citizens to own the same Standard Issue firearm provided to Light Infantryman. Now, I'm not being a wise guy. There's no reason you should — have you seen my gun violence legislation I've introduced? As you know — because you're so involved — actually, crime is down; gun violence and murder rates are up. Guns. I'm the only guy that ever got passed legislation, when I was a senator, that made sure we eliminated assault weapons. The idea you need a weapon that can have the ability to fire 20, 30, 40, 50, 120 shots from that weapon — whether it's a — whether it's a 9-millimeter pistol or whether it's a rifle — is ridiculous. I'm continuing to push to eliminate the sale of those things, but I'm not likely to get that done in the near term.
