While there could indeed be "any number of possible suspects," one of them issued a statement on Friday at the Project Veritas Website: ABC Insider: Why I, alone, released the Amy Robach Epstein tape, ending with this:

I sit right here with you all in complete shock. I, like many, are at a loss for words on how this has been handled. Instead of addressing this head-on like the company has in the past, it has spun into a mission of seek-and-destroy. Innocent people that have absolutely nothing to do with this are being hunted down as if we are all a sport. I challenge all of you to actually look inwards and remember why this company engages in journalism. CBS fired Ashley Bianco, producer formerly of ABC for releasing the video that outlines how ABC spiked an investigation of pedophile and Clinton mega-donor Jefferey Epstein. Megyn Kelly interviews her and she tearfully denies it. On the same day, James O’Keefe published a letter from the real whistleblower.

In the meantime both networks are following the DNC-talking points about investigating leakers: When the President does it, it’s bad. When they do it…crickets.

I wish Kelly had asked Bianco what CBS told her when they fired her.

But, this may be one of the rare instances where a cause of action for Negligent Infliction of Emotional Distress might work. Very generally, the tort requires that the plaintiff must have been in the “zone of danger” of the defendant’s negligent act, or it must have been foreseeable that the defendant’s negligent conduct would have caused the plaintiff emotional harm. (And New York does not, like a few states, require physical harm or contact). And if CBS fired an employee on ABC’s mistaken say-so, well, that’s pretty damned negligent. Dare I even say “collusion”?

Who’s taking odds that CBS writes a check to make this go away?

BTW, Jeffrey Epstein did not kill himself.

Well AJ, I'm glad you asked that question. Many people out there lack the skills needed to understand why news IS news - and believe me, I deal with plenty of children and teenagers to know this is the case - and I'm happy to help out here.

The main issue here is that the press, which in theory should care about reporting the facts and the truth without spin or bias, has found itself now a part of the story.

Instead of reporting the truth, now the press is actively HIDING the truth because it makes their ideological allies - the Clinton's - look bad. It is stark confirmation that the press, or at least ABC, is hiding stuff about politicians. And at this point they don't even need politicians telling them to spike a story, they're so in bed with the LW that they've been self-trained to do it themselves.

This bodes ill for all of us because our country relies upon the press being able to report without their own political blinders blocking the news.

Worse, now ABC has gone on a vendetta to get a staffer who made them look bad fired. They called up the competition and got someone sacked for it. CBS happily complied with ABC's request - and why? Now that's an even better question. Used to be, CBS would have touted this staffer by saying something like "Hey, WE value the truth - and ABC wants her fired!" - and scored some points for it. But now, punishing anyone who makes the press looks bad, and worse reveals that the Legacy Media is covering up uncomfortable truths for their political masters, well - we can't have that.

Even worse, in their zeal to punish the very press that says it cares about the truth acted so hastily that it fired the wrong person, showing that investigative journalism appears to be dead at both networks - or perhaps they don't know how to investigate anything at all anymore. Meanwhile, the Legacy Media wonders why fewer and fewer people trust it.

The bottom line is that the press has been shown to care more about protecting the LW and specifically Clinton in this case rather than reporting the truth.

And that is why people should care.

Here's the segment in question, courtesy of Stelter himself. Not only did he think this was worth airing on the amusingly titled Reliable Sources, but he then tweeted it out for anybody who might've missed it. That's how important this information is.

And that's not even the dumbest thing Stelter did this weekend. He also lashed out at Trump's claim that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi "whimpered and cried" before blowing himself up. Stelter is demanding proof. He hates Trump so much that now he's defending the honor of a dead terrorist.

It will be interesting to watch the legal process play out, especially since such a Wrongful Termination Lawsuit will (most likely) be bankrolled by Big Money RW "Sympathizers" (aka "Enemies of the Clintons").

I am sure that she will have no problem getting an Experienced Legal Defense Team to fight this Egregious Termination.
