Love the roo. He looks like the little one beside me now.
He's about to have honey on toast for breakfast.
    We look after orphan joeys.

I feel sorry for those doctors in Russia who strangely have been
falling out of buildings lately. First it was the opposition, then the
journalists, then the overseas dissidents and now doctors.
Killing has always been a govt policy in Russia. It was
Solzhenitsyn who wrote, to the effect, "This Russia, it loves
    blood."

But... even with these thugs and the censorship (Internet will
be next) you take anything they say at face value. That's kind
    of scary.

My mistake again, some of the reporters were abducted and tortured in Ukraine by the nationalists and then released.

On this issue - I cannot in good conscience take China's side.
    T
o claim virtually the whole of the South China Sea is not wise
Though they may have a Legitimate claim to some of the Islands

All the Nations adjacent to the Issue should work towards reaching
an agreement recognizing the South China Sea to be International,
.......... as they all have a vital interest in having access to those Waters

Oh, so it's the Russians killing Russians again to make the Ukrainians look bad?

You know what the difference is between your writing and my writing? Unlike you and others on the forum, I'm not trying to mislead. Therefore it's not propaganda. I just want to reveal the truth to as many people as I can - since they're not getting it from the MSM. This way people can form their own opinion and make their own decisions based on facts and reality. Isn't that what democracy is supposed to be about?

I'm not blaming you, I'm blaming all the Anglosphere for their lack of morality. It makes their purpose and intent questionable and this should be of concern to everyone, since people's lives and future are at stake

China wanted for years to form agreements with the other nations and delineate the territorial waters, but the US always intervened under the pretense that they're protecting the rights of the nations bordering the Sea.

There is no way China will ever submit to the US in the S. China Sea since its very survival is at stake. All of China's merchant ships have to pass through the S. China Sea. The only reason we are there is so we can hold a hammer over China's head to benefit our trade agreements.

If we really cared about the nations that border the Sea and it wasn't self serving, we would leave those nations alone since China has never been unfair in its dealings with other nations. If they came to an agreement with China, those nations would be able to start searching and utilizing the mineral wealth in the S. China seas to better their economies.

I'm a little distrustful of China since it is an atheist state. I know they have a strong national identity, yet they have never been an aggressive nation. The only nation with a strong claim to the reefs that are in the center of the problem, is the Philippines. Right now Duerte is in the process of kicking out the US military and getting closer to China. This would set a precedence, and the other nations bordering the Sea might follow suit.

I see the situation as being very serious.

This would be more convincing if it came from those other nations rather than a Chinese propagandist.

Does Vietnam (to pick a random example) think China "has never been unfair in its dealings"? You be the judge:

Reuters - Vietnam mulls legal action over South China Sea dispute

Al Jazeera - Vietnam fights China's 'nine-dash line' amid old enmities

East Asia Forum - Vietnam confronts China in the South China Sea

Those are just in the last few months. Do you really think Vietnam would agree that "China has never been unfair in its dealings"?

If other nations are any example, it would depend on who the president of Vietnam is. If he's under Washington's thumb, then of course Vietnam will object. Of course I don't know that much about the situation, but I do know it is serious. The free pass of all of China's merchant ships without being hindered by our war ships, is as much a matter of survival to China, as the Mediterranean was to Britain in WWII.

Our warships aren't blockading China or hindering the passage of their merchant ships. The US position is that the South China Sea is (mostly) international waters, and that Chinese merchant vessels and US warships and Vietnamese commercial vessels are all free to sail there. China's position is that the SCS is Chinese territorial waters and the US and Vietnamese are not free to sail there. The US position does not, in any way, constitute a threat to China's "very survival".

In the case of the NY Times - you can check them against themselves - stating one thing one year - then contradicting themselves when the political winds change.

Obama's "Moderate Rebel Lie" is a good example. In 2012/2013 in the first years of the conflict - the media covering of the war in Syria were all reporting that there were no Moderates of any significance among the Anti Assad forces.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/28/w...-create-dilemma-for-us.html?pagewanted=all&_r=

You can read more in the article but - there is no reason for the journalist covering the war in Syria to lie.

This reporting is backed up by now declassified documents from the Defense Intelligence Agency (from 2012). Once again - there is no reason for the DIA to be lying to the White House/ State Department.

    http://www.judicialwatch.org/wp-con...12-DOD-Release-2015-04-10-final-version11.pdf

Joe Biden confirms the state of affairs in Syria - again having no reason to lie at the time.

    https://mideastshuffle.com/2014/10/04/biden-turks-saudis-uae-funded-and-armed-al-nusra-and-al-qaeda/

You can pull up many more foreign and domestic sources - all saying the same thing "no moderates among the anti Assad Rebels"

During this period the CIA had been arming the rebels covertly.

Then - in 2014 - our proxy army and lap dog in Syria (ISIS) went off the leash and went into Iraq. Now we had a problem - we were supporting ISIS in Syria but fighting them in Iraq.

This is when the Military Assistance to the Anti Assad Rebels became overt instead of covert - necessitating the "Moderate Rebel Lie" - That there was some significant moderate presence among the rebels.

All of a sudden the NY-Times quickly forgot its previous reporting - and started to support the Establishment false narrative - which contradicted its previous reporting.

Most often the false narrative is due to the sin if omission - conveniently failing to note in the reporting that the State Department's claims are demonstrably false.

Have you seriously not picked up any lies in the MSM ? That would be unfortunate.

    1) its not a contest
    2) Why would you believe either as both are demonstrable liars ?

The mere fact that our ships are in the S. China Seas is as much a threat to them as the Chinese fleet would be if they were sailing outside our ports, and our survival dependended on exports.

Moon of Alabama always revealed the contradictions and lies in the New York Times - with the dates of course. The worse though is the omissions, since at one time I would read it from one end to the other because it was so informative. That it was liberal was taken into account, after all every newspaper has its leaning - or rather had its leanings. Now they're all reporting the same thing, giving the same spin and omitting the same thing.

I began reading Al Jazeera for a while until they joined the MSM club and began mimicking the others. Now I prefer RT and Sputnik for everyday news, but even they are not presenting all the news - so I have to find other sites and it's not easy because of the censoring.

A few days ago they censored Southfront from YouTube, I guess for reporting on the fighting in Syria and Ukraine.

The Russians used to sail off our shores and I'm sure the Chinese do as well. International waters are international waters.

Neither one would be or is much of a "threat". The Chinese are welcomed to sail (12+ miles) outside our ports.

"Manufacturing Consent" The Political Economy of the Mass Media - Noam Chomsky is a Treatise on the topic .. pointing out example after example. There is a movie you can watch as well - all available online.

It is not something that is debated in serious circles. It is documented history - lamented about in hundreds of books and so on.

To ask the question that was asked - one should be embarrassed having been a member of this Forum for quite some time. Disingenuous Ignorance perhaps ? not sure but you do see this from time to time from others.

Why would I try to prove an idiocy ? I never made any of the claims you suggest. Try to stay on page.

Obviously they lie for many reasons - some of them different. The central point here is that they both lie - often.

Reasons for lying matter. Would you applaud someone who said to the Nazis "The Frank family is in the attic!". After all that is an honest statement.

Chomsky has loads of credibility - and what he think of America irrelevant to most of his work - and so you are spewing nothing but Ad Hom fallacy.

How long have you been on this Forum ? - and are still engaging in such low level childish nonsense? Get some Material.
