Look over in the 'Political Beliefs Opinions' forum where I just posted one titled..."Why Liberals are Fascists." I think you'll change your mind about modern liberalism (not classical liberalism) as to why liberals are totally against personal freedoms. Don't let the facts of the post slam you side the face.

 

True, but it doesn't make the action right. Man is prone to error/sin. The difference is the burden of a particular sin is the responsibility of each Pope. Yes, Popes do make errors as well as confess their sins. Of course the Vatican is a tiny country w/i Italy. So it would make sense to support the hierarchy who in turn redistribute the money to Catholic missions of all sorts.

We are asked to give tithe but if someone is not financially able to do so, neither the fires of hell will rise up and consume the person nor will the person be thrown out of the fold.

Tithing can also be in the form of unpaid work for the church or donating time at the church's homeless shelter, etc. It's really no biggie, and it does liberate the heart to have a freewill choice.

 

Scripture characterizes it as "right", as a man and his wife are struck dead because they lied about having donated everything to the group. God strikes them down where they stand.

 

I think you need to get you focus away from the old and into the new Bruce!
