The anti-gun folks Have difficulty with a few facts. There are few if any incidences of a criminal shooting by a citizen with a concealed carry permit. There are a great many incidences of crimes being prevented by citizens with concealed carry permits. Violent crime has decreased in every venue where concealed carry has been instituted. At the same time that gun ownership has risen in the US, violent crime has declined. The vast majority of gun violence in the US is gang and drug related, where laws have no influence. Any attempt to remove guns legally in the US will result in law-abiding citizens being disarmed, but not criminals.
Wild animals should be left alone, we breed plenty of domesticated ones for our needs without endangering wildlife Because of our saner firearms legislation I have never known personally of anyone threatened by a firearm here nor am I ever likely to. You sound like a very desperate individual looking for boogymen here there and everywhere in order to justify your obsessions
If we don't keep the population of wildlife in check, they'll soon risk extinction. Congratulations. I have. And it only requires minimal skills to manufacture a firearm, not to mention what's coming with 3D-Printing. You're lucky, nothing more. My friends are alive because they were armed.
How ironic. I find the pro gun folks tend to have difficulty with any presented facts in my experience however legitimate the source
Its absolutely nothing to do with luck ! We had 39 people killed by firearms last year (fewer than were struck by lightning) Our numbers have been in steady decline since 2001 when we had 96 and despite 3D printers You had over 30,000 killed last year 'because you were armed' !
3D printers have not yet reached the point that they can reliably create firearms. But they will, within a few years. Meaning, anyone who wants to own one, and has enough money to buy a commercial 3D Printer (which by that time will be about $300 US), they'll be able to, regardless of the laws of the country involved. As for the 30K, 20K of them were suicides, which would have succeeded one way or the other, even if they didn't have access to firearms. And 30K sounds like a LOT, but out of 330,000,000, it's really not.
Its over 4 times the rate of most developed nations Your medical services estimate up to 100,000 per year are killed or seriously injured by firearms each year. To make that number live for you that equates to way beyond your annual Vietnam war casualties which caused riots in the streets in the 60s and 70s. Odd that this domestic rate of avoidable peacetime loss is met with such apathy and indifference today. A testement to the lobbying power of the NRA no doubt
Far more of these 'weaker' women are shot (often with their own gun) due to domestic violence by a partner in the home than by any assault from a stranger
I have many times already elsewhere. I just didn't feel like pointlessly repeating them all again for the umpteenth time
Try some facts for a change In 2010, nearly 6 times more women were shot by husbands, boyfriends, and ex-partners than murdered by male strangers. • A woman's chances of being killed by her abuser increase more than 7 times if he has access to a gun. • One study found that women in states with higher gun ownership rates were 4.9 times more likely to be murdered by a gun than women in states with lower gun ownership rates.
Those poor women should have had their own guns. Obama's CDC Study says you are less likely to be hurt if you are armed when accosted. We need more guns.
I believe laws of 'supply & demand' made this ability redundant for most of the civilized world some time ago.
Meat you kill yourself is much healthier for you, and not every one lives in town near a store. There you go again, thinking that just merely having a gun is some sort of guarantee of something. Vietnam kicked our ass with not much more than that. Many of us are former military as well. For a Marine, you sure don't know a lot. Britain's Home Guard in WW2, remember those guys? We all do what we can.
they say vegetarianism is pretty healthy too, but clearly most of us aren't interested. Actually, I don't... unlike many of the folks who buy one for self defense. no matter how tough a 20 year old some folks might have been, and no matter how much they want to relive their "glory days", the reality is that they're highly unlikely to be as useful in a firefight by the age of 70. If you don't understand that, you sure don't know a lot. Delusions of grandeur much?
Typical evasion when you have no answer for facts that don't support your position. Intellectually dishonest.
I am not the least bit interested in what you "believe". I have an inalienable right to own tools to provide food and protection to myself and my family. Unless you intend to provide me with 200 lbs of meat for $0.35 whenever I demand it, and personally provide for my families security you haven't got the first thing to say about it.
Crazy stuff . No wonder everyone rushed out to empty the shelves of AR 15s after Sandy Hook if that's the way you think !
I posted a mass of facts in support of my position ! How ironic when the most intellectually dishonest people I've ever seen are the US gun nut fraternity. Their defence of the indefensible simply beggars belief !
seems we've done a pretty good job and defending ourselves against you...........we are still unconvinced and will remain so.
