    The Confederate Battle Flag was not a political flag. It was a flag flown by the sons of our states on the field of battle as they fought defending her.

    So now it's removed, the kumbayah moment has passed and the problems within the black community still exist and no sign getting better. But they just know it will now that the flag is down. Maybe a little more hysteria is needed, what else can we ban to make life for blacks better, we did Dukes of Hazard, what else can we ban?

    And what exactly does this have to do with the topic at hand? So desperate not to discuss the problems within the Black community that only fixing those will lives improve you now have to divert to tax cuts for the wealthy?

    Please tell me how higher tax rates on the high earners is going to fix the problems within the Black community, how that will end racial differences and bring the races together.

    Just one excuse after the other.

    It was a symbolic thing. Which leads those of us not in Leftist-interpretation land to ask: Feeling any better? I mean, really. Are you "ahead"? And ahead in what, exactly? Symbolism has purpose when its powerful, but this symbolism was meaningless and forced. No one's going to remember the "date" when the stupid flag was taken down, except the Liberals. And that's the whole problem.

    Liberals cannot lead this COUNTRY. At best, only social groups.

    Why do Democrats like avoiding responsibility? Whether it's for the past Administration, whether it's the past 30 years. Democrats glee about how Republicans have retracted on most issues, and yet surprisingly the U.S is not a healthy country despite Republican capitulation? Why is that?

    Me bad. I was unaware that taking down a flag representing treason and slavery and offending most Americans, black and white, was mutually exclusive to doing anything else and precluding doing anything about poverty (hardly a high priority for true patriots). I guess by that reasoning, you going out and scooping up a pile of dog poo off your lawn means that you can't do anything else for the day. But never let a chance to dump on Bad Black People (sorry, redundant) go to waste.

    That flag was designed by a white supremacist for a war that promoted white supremacy.

    Respect indeed. Whether it's Clarence Thomas or any other neocon, I don't understand how they don't see slavery as being an indignity..

    I don't understand how you think Clarence Thomas has anything to do with a Confederate flag in South Carolina or slavery 150 yrs. ago!

    Have you ever even mentioned the Confederate flag in any post on this forum before the Charleston shootings? Did it bother you before then? Do you have a link?

    Why do you never criticize blacks,Pardy? 3 times as many blacks are killed by other blacks during any given week in Chicago, and all you can do is b*tch about a flag that never killed anyone?

    An illegal immigrant kills a woman on a pier and a muslim kills 4 marines and all the liberal idiots are worried about is people being offended by a flag?

    Find me one person who claimed that removing the confederate flag was going to "equalize" black people.

    Any black person who proudly displays the Confederate flag is an idiot. If the Confederacy won, they would be living under Jim Crow right now.

    The south seceded because they were afraid that Abe Lincoln was going to take their slaves. The north went to war because they were attacked by the confederacy.

    The Reichskriegsflagge was the closest thing that Nazi Germany had to a battle flag.
