Say as you wish, but you still cannot give one logical reason why a wall isn't needed (and yes I know they don't ALL come here across the border)

Surely illegals vote in bigger numbers than that.

Ask Jim Acosta. He claimed that a wall was not needed because there were no people attempting to climb it.

Why would anyone build a shanty on a small strip of land bounded by a river and a fence ???

I provided my source (not proof) in post #41. Where's your source?

That’s accurate. Trump’s renegotiated NAFTA has resulted in US jobs at the expense of Mexico.

Strange reaction to the addition of ~$70B to the US economy and ~ 180,000 jobs.

Strange you want to claim that is how Mexico is paying for the wall.

One way or another they are paying for the wall. Thanks Donald Trump. It’s the total package of policies that produces the result.

When debating whether or not a wall between the US and Mexico will be a resolution to the problem of illegal immigration, the real problem is never discussed. How to reform immigration so illegals no longer want to come to the U.S. illegally. Keep in mind that 'the caravans' are not people seeking to climb a wall or dig beneath it to enter the U.S., these are people seeking asylum through the legal methods as put forth in our own immigration policies.

In the meantime, while illegal immigration is at the focal point of Trump and Fox News, there's a myriad of other problems this country needs to address that have simply fallen by the wayside such as infrastructure, N. Korea, Iran, NAFTA, NATO, clean water, clean air, pollution and the overall protection of the environment. Personally, I think these things are much more urgent than the wall which is not even needed except to appease Trump's base for his re-election.

Who is working on immigration reform, what are their proposals, who's passing new legislation to deal with detention of minors? Where are the people spending all their time, energy and resources into one project that's not even going to solve the problems we have with immigration?

Keep struggling. You don't have an argument so far.

Right now, Trump totally admits they are not paying for it.

Instead, Trump wants to pay for it by cutting national defense that Republicans sold as so critical that it warranted significant deficit spending.

It really does. Trump was elected based on the total package. He always stated that Mexico would pay for the wall one way or another and pledged to renegotiate NAFTA in order to do that. He was also elected for his economic growth and trade policies with China. It’s the total package that matters.

There is no argument. Mexico is paying for the wall via trade concessions and also illegal immigration controls on their side of the border.

    Great points.

I'd add that Trump is focused on the wall, but half those here without documentation came here legally and overstayed.

imho, the wall is no more than a political campaign expenditure.

No one knows exactly how many illegals are actually in the US so how does anyone know how they got here.

Yes, the money will be re-appropriated from the Mexican economy to the US economy. The wall is sort of like forcing your neighbor to take care of his own critters, instead of you having to clean up after them on your property.
