What are you saying? Mexico has always offered asylum to transients. They have to. It's the law!

My God! You are so uninformed!

You're not very good at this. If you're talking about international asylum laws ... no, Mexico wasn't obligated, nor did offer asylum to transient migrants. Central Americans aren't recognized as refugees by international bodies. Mexico waived the requirements for refugee status. Consult your God again.

What the hell are you saying?. Where did you get the idea that Central Americans aren't recognized as refugees by International bodies? International law discriminates against Central Americans?

    What nonsense!

I have the Mexican law right here. I can translate whatever you want.

    http://www.diputados.gob.mx/LeyesBiblio/pdf/LRPCAP_301014.pdf

    For example:
Article 5 indicates the principles applied to refugees. I. No extradition. II. No Discrimination III. Maximum protection of children IV Family Unity IV No sanctions for irregular entry V Confidentiality..

Article 6. No applicant or refugee can in any way be rejected at the boarder or returned by any means to the territory of another country where their life is in danger....

Ok... so clearly you don't know what you're talking about, and you are just wasting our time.

Refugee status applies to persons fleeing conflict, religious/political persecution. Yes. Wasting your time.

Wrong!!! Don't you ever tire of being wrong?

Article 13 The condition of refugee will be recognized to all foreigner who is in national territory under nay of the following conditions.
    ....
II. That they have fled their country of origin because their life, safety or liberty have been threatened either by general violence, foreign aggression, internal conflicts, massive violation of human rights or other circumstances that have gravely endangered public safety.,

Well, at least you admit it.

Yeah, life safety & liberty endangered is pretty much universal. So central americans granted asylum, withou fear of deportation, aren't US asylum seekers. They have escaped harm. You posted the laws. Why not read them.

What are you talking about? The only thing they need in order to be U.S. asylum seekers is to apply for asylum in the U.S.

The laws I posted are for Mexico. I thought I had made that clear.

Let them apply by mail from the safety of Mexico. I mistakenly believed you were a bit sharper. I was wrong. That's the only concession you'll get from me though.

How ridiculous! You came into a discussion without even knowing the most basic facts. Starting by the fact that you can't apply for asylum unless you are physically present in the United States.

Anyway, to even start scraping at your ignorance would take too long. You're not worth the time.

Any country can become like anything. People are people. Americans are neither exceptional nor special.

    Venezuela and America surely have two things in common;

Main problems and crisis were self-imposed.

It depends on whether or not the American businessman embraces capitalism or keeps apologizing for it.

Ayn Rand: “Money is a great power—because, in a free or even a semi-free society, it is a frozen form of productive energy. And, therefore, the spending of money is a grave responsibility. Contrary to the altruists and the advocates of the so-called “academic freedom,” it is a moral crime to give money to support ideas with which you disagree; it means: ideas which you consider wrong, false, evil. It is a moral crime to give money to support your own destroyers. Yet that is what businessmen are doing with such reckless irresponsibility.”—http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/sanction_of_the_victim.html

“UNEXPECTEDLY,” NOW IN STEREO: “’New York Times’ Journalist Describes An ‘Almost Unimaginable’ Crisis In Venezuela,” NPR reports.

CTL-F “Socialism” of the article yields zero returns. The photo atop the article, of an elderly woman dramatically holding a candle in a dark room, is particularly rich coming less than a week after the left’s annual “Earth Hour” blackout stunt, and blanket coverage of AOC’s Green New Deal fantasies.

I AM QUITE FAMILIAR WITH AYN RAND AND HAVE READ MANY OF HER WRITINGS. INTERESTING READS BUT TOTALLY IMPRACTICAL. AS ANOTHER FAN, ALAN GREENSPAN NOTED, RAND'S PHILOSOPHY (OBJECTIVISM IS IT?) DOESN'T WORK IN THE WORLD. EXPERIENCE TELLS ME HE IS CORRECT. RAND'S BELIEF IN A GLOBAL MERITOCRACY WOULD NEVER BE ACCEPTED AS A GLOBAL REALITY. SORRY FOR THE STUCK CAPS KEY. I SHALL REBOOT.

Hilarious! :) Sure, Mexico grants asylum! But you have to sit in a comfortable Mexican jail cell for a year or two, longer if you don't have access to friends with a fair amount of cash ;)

As for south American visitors, well long as they pass thru to the U.S. they are tolerated and in some cases abused for the Mexicans amusement.. And many cased are dealt with a quick *Double-tap* and left for the buzzards and ants!

First, Greenspan would know, he betrayed his professed ideals. Secondly, Ayn Rand found the concept “meritocracy” to be a fraudulent “Package-Deal” (it seeks to blur the line between economic power—the wallet; and political power—the gun). Secondly, to state one cannot live by reason in the real world is to surrender it to thugs—and is a confession to either misunderstanding her ideals, or betraying yours. And lastly, if there is one fundamental principle that she proves beyond all doubt, it’s that the practical is the moral ideal.

Notice that every political swing to the right goes farther and farther to the right. And every swing succeeds in undermining democratic measures and institutions more and more. Now we have a guy in the WH who has frequently spoken and even acted as though he believed he is a dictator.

No, the U.S. will not become like Venezuela. The U.S., being the most powerful and most advanced capitalist country, will become more and more right wing extremist until it has become a crushing dictatorship unlike anything the world has seen, -unless the working class intervenes and stops it. But the right has done a thorough job for a long, long time to disarm, scatter, and confuse the people so that won't happen.

Bottom line, it's going to get LOTS worse over the next few decades until it gets better. Can the Democrats bring back a new New Deal and turn things around to give capitalism a few more decades and the people a bit more comfort first? Given the deteriorating economic fundamentals over the last 50 years, I doubt it. But we can hope.

The reason America is in big trouble is because her citizens’ are selling their freedom in exchange for government handouts, i.e., they are cutting their own throats thinking it’s the other guys’.
