Venezuela is a country where the President disparaged the press because they dared question him and limited liberty of the press and the right of the press to report on its government

White House boots media after Trump faced Cohen question
    https://www.politico.com/story/2019/02/27/trump-kim-summit-2019-journalists-1190214

The Venezuelan President singled out reporters who were particularly critical of him.

Not facing the inquiry of the press, allowed the Venezuelan President to ignore the the laws and the Constitution of his country. At first bending them almost to break-point

    https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/politics/a26881205/trump-hotels-emoluments-lawsuit/

And then just unabashedly breaking them

But taking over the courts, allowed the Venezuelan President to get away with conduct that was clearly unconstitutional.

Contrary to Popular Belief, the Court Did Not Hold that the Travel Ban is Lawful
    https://www.justsecurity.org/58807/...ence-presidents-enforcement-ban-indefensible/

The Venezuelan President slowly chipped away at the power of Congress and took over absolute power becoming the country's dictator.

Opponents move to stop Trump’s “national emergency” power grab
    https://www.peoplesworld.org/article/opponents-move-to-stop-trumps-national-emergency-power-grab/

Politically, Venezuela's President abused his power by giving benefits to his voters.and locking up his opponents

Trump escalates calls for revenge over the Mueller report

The real problem in Venezuela is not socialism. They're not even a real socialist country. Socialism seeks to give opportunities to all. Teach people to fish. Venezuela just gave them as many fish as they wanted. But there were only so many fish. Now they ran out. Venezuela is a dictatorship that blows money away in whatever the dictator's followers fancy.

Trump Plans $8 Billion for Border Wall Invoking His Own Authority
    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...lan-8-billion-for-wall-invoking-own-authority

And this is why they are in big trouble now.

The US has been borrowing money like mad-men since Reagan was in office.
The wealth of the US has been concentrated into smaller and smaller pockets of influence.

There is a distinct possibility that both the US and the Venezuelan forms of government are flawed.

I personally did just as you asked and answered the question
The rest of it was most likely propaganda and hardly any sort of reality easily found in todays greater cities!

So.... Are we now attempting to derail the thread by making it a haven for racists?

I answered the question accurately, and you didn't provide anything to counter that reality! So far as I'm concerned I won the argument, thread demands has been completed.
