Actually the idea of Jews perhaps being Gentiles in a past life is one of the major goals that I have for several of the discussion that I have going on this and various other forums.

I wasn't joking when I titled this thread......
The book that I refer to on pages 137 - 170 tackles the leading cause of anti-Semitism over the last eighteen or so centuries. From several major angles really........ .but the author is a Gentile in this life..... but was one of the Jewish disciples of Rabbi Yeshua - Jesus in the first century, (specifically Doubting Thomas).

If you've ever watched Babylon 5 it brings up one of the major objections to reincarnation Something like one quarter of all the people who have ever lived are living now and with all the billions in our burgeoning population soon to be actually exceeding all the people who have ever lived where are all the extra souls coming from? since there is no biological classification for race, no...our physical feature differences are nothing more than family resemblance combined with environmental adaptation...there are no races, we are a single specie and we're all related, the DNA evidence is definitive...

 

Exactly. Races are a social construct. Our past selves could have been anything and it is doubtful that there was an real consciousness of what race you werel (nothing like the near obsession we have today). It is unlikely that the idea of what race we were was given any thought by us at all and certainly not enough to be remembered lifetimes later.

 

There is a movie out where the configuration of our eyes is used to determine possible past lives.

I can't remember the name of it right now though.

I do suspect though that an aversion to certain types of food could indicate a past life as Jewish or Islamic:

What past life is that. Hardcore believers like you say that souls spend eternity in heaven or hell depending on how they behaved. This happens after life. How could there be another life for any soul since heaven or hell are eternal.

I personally believe that we have some sort of "over soul" for lack of a better word for it...........
so in a way you could be correct...... those other possible "past lives' really might not be us at all... .but could be totally unique and separate from us just as John the Baptist was obviously a totally separate individual from the Prophet Elijah........ even if John and Elijah may have had some sort of subconscious connection???????

In a way...... resurrection and eternal life for us in our present form.... may make the idea of reincarnation somewhat irrelevant...... to each of us..... with the exception of perhaps assisting us to be somewhat more humble and empathetic toward some others????

Of course there ARE different races, Doug. Currently, geneticists believe, based on the latest research, the East-Asians (Orientals) possess the greatest overall intelligence (IQ's), and are the most evolutionarily-advanced. Right up there with them are certain groups of 'Russian' Jews, and a few others that have strictly controlled their blood lines.

A fairly close-second to Orientals are Caucasians (White), and, last in overall IQ and other genetic development/evolution are those that are 'Negroid". Really, no surprises here. But, it is noted that the results change noticeably when there are large sub-groups of any of the races that undergo significant interbreeding with those of a characteristically more intelligent race.
