Libs are all about removing actual rights, like free speech and firearms and substituting in their madeup rights, like Transgender Bathrooms and Gay Marriage.

California shows the fate of the Democrat's system to the rest of the USA.

When growing up in CA, even as a teen I had no fear of carrying a gun in public.

Today, too many get arrested for carrying a gun.

I don't know about this instant, but in the Sacramento, CA area was a sheriff that issued gun permits just about for the asking.

I found this in our laws.

But first, this is my complaint. When homosexuals protested states did not recognize their marriage, an item not mentioned in the constitution, why is CA allowed to prevent gun owners rights inside of our borders?

This is the law on our books, or official comments on the law by CA

The right to arms is especially troublesome for them as it precludes the state from having a monopoly on force.

By the way, looking up CA laws on guns, today the sheriff can only issue permits if one resides in the Sheriff jurisdiction. City permits are obtained at the police stations.

So when the Sheriff kept issuing them to any residents of any county, somebody, namely Democrats changed the law.

    Bingo!

Around here cops are required to recertify every 6 months on all of their firearms.

They also use simulators for training in fire/don't fire situations.

Yes, I trust off duty cops with firearms because I know that they are fully trained as to when NOT to use their guns.

    - - - Updated - - -

Knowing when NOT to shoot is way more important.

Good old Sheriff Scott Jones of northern CA.

One thing I find very interesting is that a homosexual group got this changed in court.
Good for the homosexual arms group.

The term "well regulated" is the intention to regulate firearms. Furthermore Congress passed the Militia Acts that not only regulated firearms but created a GUN REGISTRY as well. The Founding Fathers would be appalled at what the NRA has done to this nation.

This is the typical mindset of a liberal living in his utopian bubble.

You need muscle memory to work a chain saw? I'm really confused now...
Look, with a firearm you need practice to hit something, that's very true and if your shooting in competition muscle memory comes into play but with the police I'd rather they use their brain before the muscle memory.
Like that great philosopher Mike Tyson said "everyone has a plan till they get hit". Muscle memory may/may not help in a bad situation but the trick is not to be in the situation in the first place.

The militia was to be well regulated

    Gun ownership was not

    second amendment text

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. On December 15, 1791, the Bill of Rights (the first ten amendments to the Constitution) was adopted, having been ratified by three-fourths of the states.

Regulating when, where and how you may carry a gun in public does not "infringe" on your ownership.

"Wary of cops"? Absolutely, if the woeful litany of American police brutality is any example.
