    Dear vis,

so you will visit a foreign country, your neighbor Ukraine, partly occupied by the russian army (in Crimea) ?

It is allways a good idea to travel to foreign soil so that you can learn about foreign customs. Unfortunately russians are doing ethnic cleansing in Crimea right now.

I would understand, that some extra space will be left.

I wonder when Crimea will be given back to the mainland. As lonnger as it takes, as higher the price will be for Russia, believe me. Total isolation is no fun.

You are a decent russian man. For that, you gained my respect. As a russian man with common sense, you should really not wellcome the russian agression - as you did not wellcomed the russian aggression in Karelia, what I did really respect and what did surprise me.

    Good evening.

hm...Litwin, Mc Donald food is very bad to your health. Also all the other american fast food options. Soft drinks are very unhealthy also.

I would advise Crimea to establish fine turkish cuisine, french and italian food and to reduce all like Mc Donalds but also Vodka and palmeni.

Turkish food, fine ottoman specialzties would be the best and right cuisine for that traditional ottoman soil.

Good evening, Lapista! Have not talked to you for while. Yes, I bought several weeks ago flight tickets to go for couple weeks to Yalta. I like the nature of Crimea, so I would like to go there. Well, for me Crimea is not a foreign country- I was born in Ukraine, but lived for many years in Russia, so I feel myself comfortable both in Russia, and Ukraine, where I have relatives and a lot of friends :)
About Crimea, for me the arguments were very simple. From 18th century Crimea joined Russia, and since that time until middle of 20th century it stayed as a part of Russia. Then it was illegally transferred (presented) by Kruchev- the leader of USSR at that time-from Russian Republic to Ukranian republic. Noone asked Russian people at that time if they want that Crimea was given to Ukraine. While the original people who lived in Crimea were Tatars, currently, most of the population in Crimea are Russians. Ukranians were always there the minority. So from historical and ethnic reasons, I think it is logical, that Crimea went back to Russia.
The situation with Karelia is different. When Finland got independence in 1917, Karelia already was a part of Finland Republic, it was always like that. So that is why I think it would be fair that it should belong again to Finland.
Do you understand my point of view?

Not really, this year will not be good, because people are just afraid to go there, thinking about war in Ukraine. But in couple years, everything will return to normal conditions. Ukraniane food is good, but you had to go for this kind of food not to Crimea, but to central part of Ukraine, or west of Ukraine.

Comon, my friend, Abkhazia is not in Russia :) It is an independent state. If you do not believe me, try to go to Pizunda or Gagry from Sochi. I did this last year. You will be surprised to see a border control.

I am really happy, that there were military forces from Russia in Crimea that prevented the war in that region. Otherwise, Yalta looked like Slavjansk now.

Of course, I am sure. Look here: http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%90%D0%B1%D1%85%D0%B0%D0%B7%D0%B8%D1%8F
Russia has recognized Abhazia souverenity. If Abhazia was in Russia, they would have now the same resorts as around Sochi.

Of course. I told you, they have a border between Russia and Abhazia. If you do not beleive me- go there and see it yourself.
Anyhow, I am sure, in 10 years Crimea would be in a better form than Abhazia now.
