I've lived long enough to know that sexual abuse scandals tend to grow long legs. We've seen this opera be sung before and I think the fat lady is just about to take the stage. In the case of Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY), it sure looks as if this thing is about to become a monster. Since I've claimed more than once that such things are not about party, but about truth and patriotism, I am going to keep it simple and direct and stick to my word. If Cuomo did the things he is accused of doing, then he should resign or be removed. I call out these scandals when they afflict the Republican Party, but I will just as vigorously call them out in my party, the Democratic Party. I don't want this junk in my party. If the accusations about Cuomo are true, then this is gross and disgusting. That being said, just as I have written about other scandals, first lets let all the facts be seen. Because geewhiz, people have never EVER lied about sexual advances, nööö.... Ähm... NOT. We the People deserve elected Representatives who hold themselves to the highest of ideals. -Stat PS. I will be feeding this thread with info as it comes in.
Due process is now back in vogue for Democrats, apparently By Kathleen Parker Supreme Court Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh, not to mention fellow Justice Clarence Thomas, must surely find it rich that Democrats and some like-minded commentators are suddenly in thrall to due process now that a Democratic governor is the subject of sexual harassment allegations. New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, thus far accused by three women of sexual harassment, has refused to step down from office. He allegedly kissed one of the women, who also happened to work for him, without consent. He touched another’s bare back at a party because, as it turns out, her dress was backless. We know for certain that he held the same woman’s face in his hands while asking for a kiss because we’ve seen the photo. I guess he gets credit for asking. He also allegedly spoke explicitly about a possible sexual relationship with a second female employee, who also happened to be a survivor of sexual assault. And then, of course, there’s the ongoing investigation by the FBI and the U.S. attorney in Brooklyn into whether officials in Cuomo’s office acted criminally when they concealed the true number of nursing home deaths during the height of the covid-19 pandemic. Members of Cuomo’s administration reportedly rewrote a July report about the deaths, which were about 50 percent greater than had been previously revealed to the public. . . .
Poor Cuomo! Now he's in the same predicament that Hitler found himself in when he began fighting on "two fronts".... Starting in 1942, Hitler was having to fight Russia AND the United States! After the Battle of Stalingrad, it was starkly clear how that whole European-war 'thing' was going to end.... Cuomo? He's fighting charges that his stupid, blundering, overbearing malfeasance got many people needlessly killed in New York nursing homes -- AND -- now he's got the "Me-Too" women revealing his fairly heavy-handed sexual 'peccadilloes'. Guess which one one of those things that hyperliberal Democrats care more about.... . "Just hang tough, Andrew... trust me, the whole thing will blow over...."
The sex scandal is a manufacturered cover up to protect the other Democrat governors who all conspired to spread coronavirus, kill people, all to justify lockdowns to hurt the economy and trump. Also to justify mail in fraudulent voting that Democrats wanted before the virus.
Should Madison Cawthorn and Ronny Jackson be subjected to the same negative press that Cuomo has received??
Democrats involved in sexual scandals have only two options: either quit politics, or become Republicans. They know it worked for Trump....
Cuomo is toast. The handwriting is on the wall. But his ego will not accept it. We'll see. You got to go Cuomo, one way or the other, your file is now too large. Five females concludes his due process.
Five women conclude due process. What do twenty six women say? I agree with this, if the women are correct he should no longer be governor. Something Republicans were unwilling to consider when voting for a candidate for President with 26 similar allegations.
Whatever Republicans may have done or not done is irrelevant in considering whether Cuomo is fit for office.
It is relevant if they are criticizing Cuomo...the issue I see presented by some is it has nothing to do with women or harassment and something to do with politics...and perhaps hypocrisy.
?? Schlitz Kavanaugh was credibly accused of sexual abuse, the investigation was blocked by the WH, and Repubs looked the other way. Clarence Thomas was credibly accused of sexual harassment, the matter became she said-he said, and Repubs looked the other way. Cuomo has been credibly accused of sexual harassment, Repubs demand his head on a spike.
From my perspective neither Kavanaugh nor Thomas was credibly accused, but that's not the point. I have no opinion yet on the credibility of Cuomo's accusers, but that's not the point either. The point is different partisan reactions to the cases. Pointing out Democrats' hypocrisy does not require me to deny Republicans' hypocrisy.
and my point is people should be upset with the harassment or worse of women, when shown to be credible, not with the political affiliation of the harasser.
Not only is that the point, the seriousness of the allegation matters too, IMO. While both may be unwanted actions, placing your hand on the back of a woman with a backless dress is not equivalent to grabbing her vajayjay. BTW, let's not forget the Dem's role in throwing Al Franken out of the Senate.
I assume you refer to former President Trump. I voted against him twice. I hated to see Franken go. It's poorer Senate without someone from Saturday Night Live.
The dems are now after Cuomo's scalp. Memo to Cuomo: Actions have consequences. You are now governor in name only. See what happens when you think with the wrong organ.
Yes they are, but methinks for NONE of the reasons we're being fed.... oh well, perhaps someday the REAL one will slip out. Sorry, I ain't buying what they're sellin'.
