US inflation 4/18 - 4/19 was 1.9 - 2.1% depending on source. Inflation on Chinese imports < 1% 2019 ... .07% highest est. I found.

The job of the Fed is to control inflation. Inflation was not an issue but they increased rates. Trump wants them to follow their charter.

We are in a period of quantitative tightening to reverse the QE of the Obama years. Approximately $60B per month are being pulled out of bank reserves.

 

Trump wants them to do as he tells them even though that isn't how the Fed works. Why? Because he knows lowering rates is stimulative to the economy and without a good economy he will not be re-elected.

 

He knows what the charter of the Fed is. You obviously do not.

 

Count yourself among the gullible if you think President Flim Flam gives a damn what the Fed's mandate is.................and among the uninformed if you think fighting inflation is their singular goal........it's to promote the goals of maximum employment, stable prices, and moderate long term interest rates.
