Dems are counting on impeachment

When Bernie and Hillary both promised "free college" during their campaigns, who do you think was paying for it....or do you believe money is magical and simply arrives by wishing for it?

 

They don’t an impeachment per say, just enough evidence and pressure to get him to resign. The notion wasn’t so far fetched a year ago, but it’s getting weak at this point. I’ve barely been paying attention anymore.

However, from their perspective, that’s no reason to let up. There were times during the Water Gate investigation when Nixon seemed pretty much in the clear, and had the investigation had let up at any of those times, Nixon would have gotten away with it.

The Democrats will continue the investigation as long as possible. Believe it or not, there are significant portions of the American people who support this investigation. We all have to agree, politicians ought to feel an obligation to do as their constituents ask. Besides, one never knows when and/or if some new undeniable evidence will suddenly come to life, changing everthing over night.

It wouldn’t be the first time.

We are on the same page, and I would suggest most are as well. I especially identify with your comments in your last paragraph.

It is my belief the one driver of the animus that is so prevalent today has to do with how information is distributed, and discussed. With the internet, opinions and reactions are no longer governed by the natural constraints of face to face discussion. With anonymity, the gloves come off, and result is what we see today. That is a shame and is very dangerous. I am convinced personally the main players in politics and cultural are playing up to that fact and using it to further their purposes.

As long as the public, or more accurately, the consumers, keep buying the stories and reacting according to suggestion, this path we are on will continue. Unfortunately, that means people, especially young people well conditioned from years of "education", will simply follow directions, rather than look where they are being led to, and how that is being done.

 

I have no problem with investigating malfeasance in politics. Regardless if it's Trump or reopening the investigation on Hillary's corruption.

That said, Trump would have to shoot or rape someone in the Rose Garden on live TV to face impeachment with a Republican Congress. It's futile to scream impeachment and, therefore, reeks of politics, not an actual attainable goal.

 

I don't see any improvement coming at all. Yeah, the lack of face to face probably has encouraged the politics of destruction. What each party has found out is divide in conquer strategy works. Negative personal attacks works. Much more than a candidate saying this is what I stand for, this is my vision and this is how and where I plan to take the country or state or what have you. More votes are obtained by pitting one voting block against the other, making the different voting groups mad and each other, even to hate so they hate the other guy more than you. It easier to accuse your opponent of sexual harassment, smoking pot, dodging the draft or not serving in the military 30, 40 years ago and on and on than debate substance. Mud slinging works, it doesn't have to be true, it just must have enough creditability to might be true.

Today's politics suck.

Trump hasn't settled any sexual assault cases for $800,000 and I haven't given him a pass, and that's why I look down on collectivist that claim to care about morals but worship bill Clinton. It's a theory at this point. How is it killing jobs with all the new work we see in the sustainable/renewable energy generation fields? At one point or another we ARE going to run out of fossil fuels, there may be more than we thought but they are still not infinite. And the fact that they pollute the air and cause disease is not in dispute, so a conversion to them seems called for at this point

When will Mother Earth quit making oil?

 

In its own time unforced. In the US alone we have over 300 years worth of fossil fuel supplies. The headlong government forced rush into expensive and unreliable energy sources only hurts, not helps.

The Earth stopped making oil 400 million years ago. Are you truly a believer in that crazy theory that God makes more oil as we need it? With all due respect that's about akin to Flat Earth.

 

So tectonic drift isn't forcing crust into the mantle loaded with carbon and cooking it into oil anymore?

 

My understanding is that there isn't enough vegetation around to generate any significant amount any more. Additionally, it takes some millions of years to "cook"

The Carboniferous isn't called that for nothing, Most coal and oil comes from there because there were millions of years when the Earth generated far more vegetation than it does now, layers of dead plants were like miles thick.

 

I would imagine that all the Dinosaurs Aren't cooked yet. It would take a very long time for Earth to cycle its entire crust. Everyday carbon is thrust into the mantle and cooked off as oil just like cooking makes grease. That is a reason why oil wells that are dry end up being build back up again.

 

There are plenty of ways for Trump to go down. Colluding with Russia, money laundering, obstruction of justice, tax evasion, sexual assault. The question is not if Trump will be impeached, but when

 

They totally failed, unemployment blew right past what they said their stimulus would hold it to and then they had nothing left up their sleeves, had they worked we would have been into a full recovery by 2011 instead we barely held our heads above water for the next 4.

 

When you got something even close to Bill Clinton who acts according to the Democrats, including felonies in a federal court, did not disqualify him from office let us all know.
