Trump: “if I don’t win you’re going to see a crash like you’ve never seen before.”

Trump supporters think that today heralds the destruction of the US as we know it, making into something communist.

Reality: The stock market is forward looking. At least today, it doesn't seem to have a problem with Biden as the president. In fact, many investors are probably glad that the chaos and uncertainty of the Trump presidency is behind us.

Personally, I keep investing into a mix of stock and bond index funds according to my asset allocation, no matter who is president. I never sold when Trump got elected, and I am not selling now that Biden is the president. Time in the market beats timing the market.

The market will do as it always does, go up, go down, with every puff of wind on the planet.

So, you admit that Trump was full of hot air when he fear mongered about the stock market crashing if he didn't win?

Yeah, the market likes stability and predictability, two things that were in short supply with Trump in office. It will probably take off like a rocket with Biden in office.

Of course the Market's happy for now back to business as usual with China and American workers be damned. You've git another year or two to go before the bad affects if Biden's disasterous Policies and Chinese ownership come home to roost

Noooo... I'm saying the f***ing stock market goes up and down like a yo-yo, as in when somebody cuts a fart in the Middle East or some corporation announces an expansion or layoffs. If you haven't noticed TRUMP AIN'T PRESIDENT NO 'MO! Can't imagine when the next tumble comes (and it WILL, as night follows day) WHO you'll have to blame it on. Oh yeah, that place where the "buck stops", and it won't be Trump sitting behind it. Too bad, huh? :)

Out of curiosity, what bad effects will those be?

Well, the performance of the markets under Trump seem to somewhat invalidate your thesis.

I didn't say that was the only thing the market likes. However, there were at least a dozen times that the market dropped by hundreds of points after an insane Trump tweet, which is consistent with what I said.

I am not the one trying to predict the stock market, because I am not a market timer. Yet, Trump predicted the stock market crash, a prediction that, so far, has turned out as an epic fail.

I am also not the one who links stock market performance to presidential performance. No, that would be your side.

75 straight days of record closes on the NASASQ.... a record in itself...

The market has a mind of its own, however. The "invisble hand."

Job losses as more mom and pops go out of business hammered by lock downs minimum wage hikes and followed by a deflationary spiral. As unemployment skyrockets the housing market collapses and the homeless population quadruples.

It hasn’t even been a full day yet.
Having said that, I doubt stock market will have real performance issues, as long as Biden doesn’t attempt to implement national lockdowns we should be OK.
Too much stimulus + minimum wage increase will cause demand-pull inflation which pretty much guarantees a solid stock market increase (at least on the surface).

Like everything in the Trump administration it simply followed Obama's trend.

Should we remind you each time it hits a new high?
OMG a new high on his very first day!

Stay the course. Knowing what the market is going to do is the surest way to lose money!

Well, in 2016, we were told that Trump owned the stock market as soon as he was elected. What is different now?

So we are not going to hear the same tired comments about inheriting a growing economy?

    I agree 100%, that's what I did in 2008 and 2020, and it didn't hurt me.

Which 75 days and what do you mean by "record closes?" Because I can't find any data that indicates that.

I’d like to remind you that in 2016 we were promised a full stock market collapse right after Trump was going to get sworn in.
There are progressive millionaires who lost their as$es when they bet on market dive after Trumps take over.

That is factually incorrect. The markets were turbocharged by almost $2T in liquidity repatriated in 2017-2018 by major American corporations who had legally sheltered (stashed) dollars offshore under Obama. Apple, Microsoft, Caterpillar, among others brought money back to the country because of Trump, and the results were almost immediate.

Don't bother. I have daily alerts on my iPhone.

    Let's hope it keeps going.

So, just so we're clear, you're predicting that there will be fewer jobs, higher unemployment, and a housing market crash in the US within the next two years?

For sure. It was easy to predict since there were no attacks on the capitol. The market hates things like that.
