Dick's Sporting Goods will stop selling assault-style rifles

    Not good for the gun huggers , the times they are a changin'

    Dick's Sporting Goods, the nation's largest sporting goods retailer, will stop selling assault-style weapons like the one used in the Parkland, Florida, high school shooting.
    The company said it will also raise the minimum age for all gun sales to 21. Dick's (DKS) will not sell high-capacity magazines that allow shooters to fire far more rounds than traditional weapons without reloading, as well as other accessories used with weapons similar to the AR-15.

    It is their business what they have in their inventory. Calling supporters of the second amendment "gun huggers" says more about you than them.

    People will go elsewhere to buy their tactical rifles. At least Dick's will feel like they did something helpful.

    So tell us why you like Dick’s so much. This is the second time they “quit” selling ARs. They do it for the publicity after every mass shooting.

    Where EXACTLY in his 'gun huggers' comment did he specify that he was referring to all supporters of the 2'nd Amendment?

    Why on earth would anyone not in the military, FBI or police need assault weapons? It's not like they're going to haul off and invade Venezuela or North Korea. That would mean putting their lives on the line.

    How did people kill people before the AR-15? I think it's just the weapon of the day. I shudder to consider it, but I know what I could do with a standard 12 guage pump defender and a 9 mil or even an old 357 mag revolver and a hall way filled with unarmed kids(banish the thought). We don't lack gun control in America. We lack self control. And that's mainly a product of Fatherless homes, which has nothing to do with the NRA or second amendment, and everything to do with liberal pseudo compassion sitting in for Fathers, saying we don't need Fathers.

    For a short while here in Minnesota there was a commercial with several women saying "we love Dick(s)" - I'm not sure if it was spelled with an apostrophe.

    Looks like Dick's Sporting Good is about to learn the lessons that Big 5 Sporting Goods learned the hard way back when Big 5 was the nation largest sporting goods retailer.

    Gun owners just don't shoot guns or go hunting, they also go fishing, camping, hiking, and participate in numerous outdoor sports, baseball, golfing, skiing, and buy ice chest for NFL tailgating and NASCAR races.

    I think that it inferred that anyone who doesn't blame the gun is a gun hugger, which is pretty much all second amendment supporters along with most sane knowledgeable adults.

    It's not a case of needing, it's a case of wanting. Nobody needs a 120mph sports car they just want one. Nobody need a rottweiler, they just want one.
    All are dangerous and often misused but only firearms are demonized.

    When driving from L.A. to Las Vegas a 120 MPH car is required.

    I still remember back when many states like Nevada, Idaho, etc didn't even have a maximum speed limit until the first Arab oil embargo.
