    Here is a report:

    https://www.latimes.com/world-natio...as-school-shooting-police-pressure-abbott-nra

When police shot and killed an un-armed black person because of a doubtful number plate, it was said that the police did everything right.

In the Texas school shooting the police waited patiently outside while the killer shot children and teachers.

Did the police do everything right in the school shooting at Uvalde, Texas?

No. But in the words of Bush I, hindsight is 90-90.
Police are run by humans. Humans are not perfect.
Systemic beliefs are part of humans reactions.

The police did everything right with Patrick Loya, he was an idiot who got himself killed. In this situation they were wrong but I have sympathy with them, they followed their training, they thought he was barricaded in a classroom and that this was a siege. This was a fluid situation where they didn't have all the facts and that is the nature of police work.

What about the emergency phone calls from the children inside?
    Why have they been ignored?

Your assuming that information got through to the guys on the ground. Until we have the inquiry we don't know. Let's not practice the Coffee Cup Court Martial here

No but we don't know if this info reached the guys on the ground, under fire, radios jammed up with everyone trying to speak at once, having to prevent the hysterical parents trying to run into the school and get themselves and any potential hostages killed, let's wait for the inquiry, no Coffee Cup Court Martial.

They followed orders. Thats what police are trained to do above all else.

So its not so much whether they 'did it right' or not, but rather is following orders what we want our police's priority #1 to be?

Every LEO on that scene knew what was happening and most, if not all, heard gunshots. It's going to be a hard sell to make the public accept continued service from most of those officers.

The police at the scene, yes. They didn't storm the perp for an hour as hey thought it was a hostage situation. To storm him with hostages would have ment avoidable death.
The police followed procedure. The officers at the scene followed command.
    Blame procedure and command

The Police version of events hangs everything on an impenetrable door and the danger posed to officers when or if they tried to get through it. I wonder how anyone is going to sift through all the stories of what happened and find an actual accurate listing of events as they happened.

Were there any kids alive and uninjured left in that room? Nothing I have seen on it indicates it was more than that one room of kids he took under attack.

My question also includes those who gave the orders.
    They were also police.

As it seems for some here the police can never do anything wrong.

Whether the police cowardly kills un-armed black persons because of some number-plate -
or whether the police cowardly leave children to their fate if an attack is going on.
    "glorious" police!

They stood around while 18 children were executed. Hell no they didn't do the right thing,

It proves the argument that arming everyone makes us safer is insane.

The only logical step left based on the right-wing gun fanatics is to arm the children.
