So you want Big brother government to tell parents what movie their kids can see and what movie they can’t see?

Don’t you think your preferred movie should be played at your home and not my home? Or you think freedom loving, small government conservative idea is that government should give me list of movie I can play at my home?

My, my , we are coming close to North Korea where Government tells me what movie I can watch at my home.

You should care as much as other people exercising their right to free speech with people you agree with, as people you disagree with. You should condemn those who use violence. You should care about what a Christian person does as much as you do a person who is anything else. Abusive? Bad. Non abusive? None of my business.

    This is easy stuff.

I said absolutely **** all about government

Yeah I was mostly doing a tongue-in-cheek response to what utter **** the Disney corporation has become. It was critical commentary on their content

I dislike Disney greatly, but the only grooming they do is to create consumers. They relentlessly market products to impressionable children. That is the only grooming they do. And it is really awful. They make great products however. As parents we just made sure that when our son was growing up, we watched Disney stuff that was well out of date so that there would be no marketing of product directed at us (ie. no one is selling us Braveheart or Zootopia merch today)

As to this whole issue. DeSantis has relentlessly used his office as free advertising for his presidential aspirations, and it is disgusting to see taxpayers money used in such a manner. While I disapprove of the tax carveout that Disney has benefit from for over 60 years, there is no question that Desantis has used his office to punish Disney for speaking out. And where he is about to be seriously bitten in the ass is his saying in front of a mike that they are considering building an amusement park or a state prison on the now state controlled property. He can say he was joking as much as he wants, but that is proof that he is actively trying to hurt a private enterprise. And he can't even hide behind claiming that it was just about the tax carveout that Disney unfairly had.
BTW it seems to me that even the governor's argument that it is about fairness ie “We are unaware of any legal right that a company has to operate its own government or maintain special privileges not held by other businesses in the state.” because if I understand correctly, it is still a tax carveout, just with control by the state.

OK, so there are two employees who were arrested for pedophilia in the past who were given jobs at Disney subsequently (a film director and an acting coach). I did not know this, and that certainly is a terrible call on their part. Especially since these were obviously proven and verified crimes, not a he said she said case. And 1 employee caught trying to solicit underage sex with a 14 year old who was part of sting operation.
That is really light to try to prove that Disney is a groomer business. One employee out of 220000 soliciting underage sex, and two pedophiles on their pay rolls (and I really think that is a terrible terrible call by Disney). That is a far better record than the Catholic Church, congress or the senate.

He is a disgusting smug child, perfect representation of what Republican politicians have become of late. No policy, only trolling and quasi-fascism.

Sorry but I'm gonna have to call bullshit on that because Disney and Pixar have put out some good films in the last 2 decades, in addition to their 80s and 90s hits.

Actually Judge Woke Stupid will hear this case, he'll issue his usual Woke Stupid Ruling, and then the 11th circuit will blister his Woke Stupid Ass over it. Just like they did with the election reforms bill.

Florida Scores Huge Win for Free and Fair Elections Over Marc Elias and an Obama Judge.

The only thing the Eleventh Circuit didn’t do with Walker’s [Judge Woke Stupid] ruling was roll it up and stick it in his eye.

Disney fired the CEO that started this.
Disney lost 44.58% of their stock value equating to a loss of over $123 billion
Disney+ as well as lower box-office receipts are tanking
Disney lost the Reedy Creek privileges

This is your idea of Disney laying a trap?
I bet their stock holders call it idiocy.

Do you want woke corporations telling state voters they have to allow the indoctrination of gay and trans sexuality issues to be taught to your 5 year old?
Or do you want state governments to stop any indoctrinations of 5 year olds in local schools?

The current CEO, Bog Iger, is the CEO that started this. Bob Chapek was left holding the garbage that Iger left him when he (sort of) left the CEOship.

That being said, this lawsuit is a complete joke.

Conservative SCOTUS already gave that permission to all corporation to inject their political opinion to American citizen. It’s call “Citizen United”.

10 years ago, Conservatives were really happy with that rule. Back then most of the big corporations were supporting conservative politics of small government, tax cut ,deregulation. But today things have changed and Corporation support ideology what Republicans oppose.

As soon as corporation stop “woke” culture , and start supporting “ evangelical mortality” republican will line up to give more tax cut to corporation.

    FALSE
The Supreme Court ruled that corporations and other outside groups can spend unlimited money on elections.
Which has nothing to do with the topic

And you didn't answer my question

Do you want woke corporations telling state voters they have to allow the indoctrination of gay and trans sexuality issues to be taught to your 5 year old?
Or do you want state governments to stop any indoctrinations of 5 year olds in local schools?

Disney's pockets run very deep so even if they lose this they can more than afford to take a hit. They haven't survived this long for no reason.

It was Chapek who threatened Florida legislature, not Iger.

When Florida legislature scripted their bill to not allow trans and gay sexuality issues to be taught to 3-5 year olds, a media story broke showing Disney was financially supporting the Florida Senators voting on this bill and blamed Disney for the effect.

Chapek wrote an internal email to all Disney employees explaining their support. But that email found its way to the media and the very next day, Chapek did a 180 and started railing against they very same politicians they were indorsing. In other words, he got egg on his face and thought if he came out as fighting Florida over their bill, he could become the hero.

He then told the Florida legislature if they vote to pass this bill, that Disney would spend what ever it takes to have their bill overturned.
And thats how this who thing started.

This is a woke California corporation telling Florida voters what they can and can't do. And they will cost Florida voters billions if they don't comply with Disney demands.

So DeSantis told Chapek, if Disney wants to stick their nose where it doesn't belong and act like a Florida Business, then they can be a Florida business. Which he came back with pulling their Reddy Creek privileges.

When that story broke, Disney stock started tanking and Iger sold off his 90 million shares because he saw where this was going.
And thats who Iger really is. He only cares about his pocket book so he even sold out. Now he's running the place.

Now Iger steps up to the plate a year later and starts crying about how Disney is being attacked by government.
But its a little too late for that cry.

I have no problem with corporation telling whatever they want. I don’t agree with it but it’s their freedom. I thought we live in a country where Free Speech is the core principle of our democracy.

It seems like you want to squash Free Speech.
