538 has launched an hourly tracker for support of impeachment and they explain their rationale for which polls are being collected. Here are the two charts of the data, thus far, with the first tracking the overall level of support and the second breaking down the data based on political affiliation.

Support for impeachment saw a dramatic uptick after the announcement of the official impeachment inquiry. And the uptick occurred across all three political groups, with support increasing by 7.8% for Independents, 7.7% for Democrats, and 2.8% for Republicans.

Some do and some don't as the OP pointed out.

This post is more evidence that left-wingers know that they can't beat Trump at the ballot box.

Impossible to say. Even if you add up all the total participants in the most current polls from each polling entity, you're looking at number under 50,000 people. That's a little more than 0.01 percent of the American population.

I suppose we can refine that number by removing the population of people under the voting age of 18. According to Google, the 2010 census puts the population of those under 18 at 71 million. For lack of more up-to-date statistics, I'll use that number.

327,000,000 minus 71,000,000 equals 256 million. Using the large estimate of 50,000, that's still only .02 percent.

No reason to believe these polls anymore than the manufactured polls that said Hillary would win. Nothing has changed in how they are conducted nor who they are polling. All evidence points to the exact same stupidity that started the liberal whining in the first place. Until polling methodology is fixed, it simply is not a good gage to determine anything of real importance...

A margin of error calculator shows that 50,000 sampled out of 256 million gives a margin of error of 0.44%

exactly what I was thinking. They know all of their candidates are hopeless, so they need a plan B.

You said the same thing in 2018 when the polls said that Democrats would win the total vote by roughly 8.7% and then the Democrats won the total vote by roughly 8.5%.

A margin of error calculator has no knowledge of the actual margin of error. It's a blind guess at very best and can never replace actual knowledge, even when that knowledge would be impractical and close to impossible to obtain.

Trump requested assistance from a foreign leader against a domestic political opponent while simultaneously and unilaterally withheld hundreds of millions in military aid because he is the true whistleblower working for progressive democrats who want to get Joe Biden out of the race.

Meaning the polls are even more useless, because they don't even take into account how our system works.

Total vote nation wide is an irrelevancy, not sure why you don't get that. I recall the Blue Wave you promised and yet you folks lost Senate seats. Keep believing the manufactured polls, just don't whine when Trump is re-elected, you've been warned...

That does not make that the polls are useless, it means that polls have limits.

A politicians job depends on polling information to make decisions. The increase in support for impeachment since the announced inquiry means that politicians in support of impeachment will feel emboldened to continue and those who oppose impeachment will feel increased pressure to, at a minimum, explain why.

40% of House Republicans did not leave the the House since Trump won in 2016 because of an irrelevancy.

Why should Presidents ignore clear cases of conflicts of interest at the least, bribery and extortion almost on it's face?

    No Americans don't support impeachment.

And about the polls that showed Hillary winning, she did win the popular vote but not the electoral college vote. Those polls don't take into account the electoral vote. Should the polls directly ask electoral college voters who they support instead of asking individuals? Is it too early for that? Maybe not all of the electoral voters have been picked yet??? I don't know the system.

They left for various reason, what's that got to do with Trump? Oh right, nothing...

Why would Presidents go to the leader of a foreign government while simultaneously and unilaterally withholding hundreds of millions in military aid to request assistance against a domestic political opponent for an issue about which multiple agencies and investigators have found zero evidence of wrongdoing instead of approaching his domestic investigative agencies if the evidence is so "clear?"

Ah yes, they left or were defeated in districts where Trump is extremely unpopular and yet them leaving had nothing to do with Trump.

In 2018, when Democrats picked up 41 seats in the House, what percentage of the voters made their selection because they wanted to send a message of support/disapproval to Trump? 64%

Great now you post some unsupported number like 64% and expect anyone to take you seriously? Either way, this really did not fall outside of normal parameters for mid-term House elections. You folks are making mountains of molehills and none of it supports what you folks are actually saying. The support you claim simply isn't there, just like 2016. I can't wait, I can use a good laugh...

You are free to use polling as a measurement, but when you(and others too) post titles such as "Do Americans support" and then post a poll with around 1,000 participants, you really just make yourself look silly and like you don't understand that 1,000 people don't represent America, they represent the 1,000 people that got asked.
