Does anyone know the meaning of "fascism?"

Doesn't a complete fascist have to exhibit other totalitarian characteristics?

 

Ask any twenty persons and get about 7 different answers. My preference of fascism, a term originated with Mussolini, means a totalitarian government that controls virtually every aspect of the society (country) and its economy though, unlike socialism, does not actually own the means of production.

Umm, that is inaccurate.
Im a lefty an I love capitalism..The majority of the left has embraced it in fact. It is a tiny minority that are socialist, communist..about the same minority that are klan members on the right.
So Trump supporters guys got the Klan, we got a few commies.

Victimhood: Despite the claims of superiority, the fascist tends to also claim this group has been victimized by others — say, stabbed in the back while they were about to win World War I — and that bold action is needed to right this “wrong” and restore the hierarchy. This also tends to make equality look like discrimination against a group that isn’t being discriminated against.


Law and Order: Fascists often promise to bring law and order to a nation, though they often end up more corrupt than anybody else.

Sexual Anxiety: Like other right-wing movements, fascism tends to play on fears of and prejudices against homosexuality. Fascist politicians often frame themselves as protectors of women and children in the face of fanatic homosexuals out to harm them.

Sodom and Gomorrah: Many authoritarian, right-wing regimes gather support from the countryside by painting the urban parts of the country as the source of decadence, cosmopolitanism, sin, crime, and moral decay. Urban elites are contrasted with the “real” citizens living a wholesome, traditional life in the country."

Benito Mussolini was a socialist who adopted fascism because socialism was too egalitarian. He famously said:
"All within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state."
Using the above as a guide post, we are equipped to sniff out fascist behavior.
For instance, Islamic extremists act out their own version ,,,
"All within Islam, nothing outside of Islam, nothing against Islam."
Cancel culture is a similar display of intolerance with their own version:
"All within progressivism, nothing outside progressivism, nothing against progressivism."
If you look inside the progressive agenda, you will find a drive to brainwash children from a young age. That's why "Build Back Better" includes the Federal takeover of education ,,, starting by indicting parents who object to their kids being propagandized.

In 2010, progressives made up 5.2% of the population, 26% of the 20% of the population who self-identified as liberal. Today, virtually all Democrats in Congress identify as progressives ,,, because with few exceptions, they are scared of the progressive (OK, I'll say it) fascists.

Obama, who enjoyed 90% positive press coverage, launched an investigation of James Rosen. He launched an investigation of a Presidential candidate from the opposition party. When that didn't work, he set out to frame the candidate. Typical fascism

You'll recall, Obama sent Clapper to spy on millions of Americans without a warrant and unleashed his IRS to harass people with opposing points of view.

I don't know where you're going with this, but small government right-wingers of the US are more federalists and libertarians in contrast to intolerant proponents of big intrusive government who have appropriated the root of the word liberal to describe their fascist tendencies.

Wrong Mussolini saw fascism as Italian socialism and said so at length. His socalled third wave was little different than pre Thatcher British socialism. Save that the big owners got to run their own company's companies provided they did exactly what they were told and if they didn't well they would soon cease to be the owners. Note this sort of socialism once removed, has an advantage over British socialism in that there is always a scape goat to blame when everything goes to hell. It's a bit dishonest but everything about socialism is a bit dishonest, including its supposed raison d'etre.

 

Not objecting to anything just point out another way in which Democrats act like fascists.
