Republicans cling to this myth as an excuse to why they lose elections. They should just accept that they lost, and live to fight another day. But in the end this claim of voter fraud does undermine the country and the elected President. If there is ever another GOP president, I wonder how much about voter fraud we will hear?

It's only voter fraud if the other side does it.

    Right?

And you will never hear about that from them again when another GOP candidate is elected. Since the last GOP President, majority of the voter fraud allegations have originated from the left.

Voter fraud is always a serious issue. Until it's not, that is.

Election fraud is the American way.

That is what happens when the people who are running for office run the election.

I laughed when foreign observers of U.S. elections were threatened with arrest.

    Hypocritical to the extreme.

They were able to get by with voter disenfranchisement before the demographic of the country turned against them.
They managed to steal the 2000 election by disenfranchising over 50,000 voters in Florida when Kathy Harris and Jeb Bush removed that many eligible voters, most of them democrats, before voting day.
Now, even with their Jim Crow tactics, they are having problems disenfranchising enough people to win an election because the demographics favour the democrats.
They tried insulting voters by calling them too stupid to vote correctly but realized that was useless, so now they are on to the voter fraud hysteria.
It's rather pathetic watching them trying to rationalize their failure rather than facing the real reasons why they lose.

Don't worry, eventually the GOP will assign 5,000 electoral votes to the Koch brothers.

Voter fraud is another bull(*)(*)(*)(*) GOP lie to openly VIOLATE the 24th Amendment with their voter suppression tactics.

Are we moving back in time, Republicans?

The irony is if you are an individual who actually tries to think of a way to commit voter fraud, it's hardly worth the effort. I mean can any small group really get enough votes to change the outcome of a major election? Even the "ACORN" concept was absurd to think it would have had any real impact on an election of hundreds of thousands if not millions of votes. If there is real voter fraud as a potential threat to the election process, it has to take place after the votes are cast to do any real damage. That means any serious voter fraud would be committed by the controlling party in a said state or district.

Most identified voter fraud has been committed by some group working for the GOP, mostly falsely registering Democrats or throwing their registrations in the trash.

Depends on what "myth" you're talking about. If it's the idea that Obama won the popular vote twice off of fraud, then yeah that's baloney. But no one takes that seriously. Like at all. But the "myth" that fraud exists and had the capacity to change elections? Well no that's not a myth. Voter fraud is real, and it's more frequent than "convictions." I've heard Democratic friends say, as many on this site do, that it's rare, citing how few cases of voter fraud are, but those are CONVICTIONS. Saying there are only that many cases is like saying, "only 500 people were convicted of selling pot last year, I'm glad that pot was only sold to 500 people." There are huge logical gaps.

I understand the concern about it being cumbersome on voters, so why not just have states wanting more strict voter ID laws pull out all the stops? Provide free ids and give voters months to get them, and provide free transportation to those that need it? If you won't agree to any voter ID laws whatsoever, I don't see how you really have a leg to stand on.

Rly? Requiring an ID to buy alcohol, tobacco, board a plane, drive, buy a gun etc. is totally cool, but requiring one to vote is 'going back in time'?

Those aren't rights. Voting is a RIGHT. It is non-debatable.

This is why impeding the most important EXPRESSION of the will of the people is so important to those on the RIGHT:

    They tend to lose, otherwise.

Voter fraud should be taken seriously on both sides of the aisle.

I mean, if we cared about democracy and all that...

I don't believe everyone should vote. Or rather, I don't believe we should encourage everyone to vote.

Especially since voting does not interest most people.

I think the voting franchise should be earned. 1. Must have high school diploma or GED; 2. Must complete a certain amount of either community or military service; 3. Must be a taxpayer.... and the biggie 4. Must not be employed by government at any level, state, federal, local, contractor.

I lose people on 3 and 4 usually, but that's what I believe would lead to a better US. The framers never intended the vote to be universal and as democratic as it is.

19,000-0 districts and districts having 108% of registered voters showing up to vote make fraud plausible.

The fact the irregularities always seem to show up in Democrat-dominated districts is smoke that indicates possible fire.

That a Democrat activist who was convicted of voting six times is considered a hero reinforces the suspicion of vote fraud.

Vote fraud reality does indeed undermine election legitimacy.

"Bearing arms" in a civilian context is up to interpretation, hence gun laws, permits, etc.

Voting is not debatable. Voting is a right. GET OVER IT and stop trying to prevent people from voting for different beliefs than you.

Yeah sorry dude, can't take you seriously here. The sheer hypocrisy in your post reeks. The 2nd says the right of the people to keep and bear arms Shall NOT be infringed, but according to you that's wishy washy, but according to you voter Id is clearly unconstitutional, even though it's never covered in the constitution

There is NOTHING hypocritical about my post. The 2nd Amendment / Gun debate can be found in another thread.. or any constitutional academic paper. If it was so damn absolute the DEBATE wouldn't exist.

Voting has no debate. Don't (*)(*)(*)(*) around the issue that is voting RIGHTS.

Calm down kid. No need to curse.

See above. Your statements on this are hypocritical.
