http://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-pre...raft-him-starting-new-political-party-n719931 I think Bernie should do it... He might give in if he's pressured enough. I wouldn't mind seeing a party for progressives, a party for democrats, and a party for Republicans. Let the people have it, Bernie! I, however, agree entirely with what Jim Webb says... A man truly for America and willing to change parties when they go so far to the left that they're ruined. This guy gets it.
Why do we suppose that Bernie simply cannot finally come out of the socialist closet and call himself a socialist. Why? They can get themselves some cool stationary. They can get offices. They can brand themselves. They can get a slogan. It could be something like: "We'll get cool stuff, from you, while you suffer." In true socialist fashion.
I'm ALLLLL for it.... Split that party up. The "progressives" have already ran the democrats out, along with a gaggle of the libs. They're like the loud obnoxious ill mannered 19 year olds that came together to buy a nice house in decent neighborhood and caused all the people there to flee to the better neighborhood in the rival town because they shat all over everything and caused the worth of the houses to drop like an F-14 in a tailspin. And as the people moved out, more obnoxious 19 year olds moved in and within a year, turned the entire neighborhood into a cesspool like Detroit. Progressives are the licorice jelly beans that nobody likes.
I always think of progressives like the mafia. They are only there to extort you for their "protection" which is basically useless and only benefits their lazy lifestyles....
Would I like to see Bernie split the democrat party in two? Sure! Who wouldn't (except for the hard line reactionaries backing Hillary "Ma Barker" Clinton). Is this nation ready for or well served by a socialist presidential candidate? No. Not at all. You can expect the long, sharp knives to come out for Bernie from his old comrades on the left should he go third party and I would expect a blood bath there so do I think a third party is likely? No.
And they can apply the coup de grâce to the destruction of the D party which appears to stand for only conspiracy theories today.
I wish there were more viable parties than just the Democrats and Republicans. I've never found either to be a perfect fit. Now the Democrats seem to be getting farther and farther "out there", leading to increasing Republican popularity, but less viable choices for the voters -- sometimes it even looks like we're headed towards one party domination, and here I am wishing we had more than two....
But oh how nice it would be... Meanwhile, California wants to vote in 2018 to secede from the Union...
We might see a party composed of moderate R's and D's. The Freedom Caucus is more interested in fighting battles they can't win and the Socialists are more interested in distribution above growth.
California should be split into multiple states. The moon beams in Sacramento don't speak for a great many of us.
I consider myself a centrist for many things and do believe we need a People's Party, but it cannot lean extreme right or left in any ways for it to be successful. I am pretty sure Bernie is not the guy to lead the party, but I also have no idea who that person is.
It's a message being pushed by progressives, a party for them, so it would be as far left as the left can go.
I understand that is the case and I find it unfortunate. I really do believe this country needs a party that has a little bit of the center of each party to even include the fiscal responsibilities touted by the Tea Party. The fringe lunacy of each party needs to stay where they are. We can do better for this country. Less hatred towards each other and a little more meeting in the middle for the good of everyone - not just me, me, me!
Bernie would bankrupt the country. That's a given. He would also split the Democratic party which he has already done. I don't see any downside for Republicans. Socialists are not electable. Feel the Bern Dems.
