I am not a journalist. Journalists investigate and report on events in an impartial manner not applaud the decrees of juntas. No naturally I'm not enjoying any bloodbaths and the shame is on you for suggesting it. This is not about me its about the job of being a journalist. Yet again you are demonstrating a complete lack of understanding of what freedom and democracy is all about.

Do you think the journalists at this press conference were all Bin Laden's supporters since they didn't applaud?

Not torture. Harsh interrogation. Big difference.

Besides, the guy was responsible for the deaths of over 3000 people.

Wrong, I don't need to show proof as the onus is on the detaining authorities that there is no reasonable doubt that the confession was made under duress. Duress is not necessarilly torture making the issue of the use of torture a different matter. Demanding proof before acknowledging that a confession is forced supports the practice. The audience watching a televised confession of this nature should always assume the confession is forced unless there are very good reasons to think otherwise. You and Abu allow yourselves to be manipulated by regimes or groups who avail themselves of the practice of forced televised or publicised videoclip confessions and thereby encourage such practice and show a lack of critical thought.

Wakey wakey Moon your example is still not a televised confession which is the issue.

Only forced televised confessions is the issue not torture. Incidently your boy appeared in court today, a court where evidence obtained by torture is banned. Still the US did not seek to manipulate public opinion by parading your boy in front of TV cameras making all kinds of confessions. Maybe despite everything because Americans are sufficiently critical of such shows and their judicial system sufficiently developed making them an anachronism unlike Egypt with many more folk like Abu and you. Your use of visual media in your posts bears witness to your appreciation of its propaganda potential so stop pretending its "girly hockey-sticks" to the point I was making.

Amr Mussa slams rioters who tried to breach MOD. For fighting our army.
Says they are not revolutionaries and are working for 'others'.
When asked about protesters asking for handover now instead of in 3 weeks he called them attention seekers.

Well Mr Mussa at least we agree on something.

That's your idea of stalking, just for showing you up! How about a proper response to my critical posts instead? Why do you find televised forced confessions credible? Why do you degrade women by supporting "virgin testing"?

    Latest round up

Many presidential candidates have slammed the Abu Ismail sit in clashes at Abaseya and warned against attacking army and public buildings and not to follow outside interferences in our country.

Al Wasat the 3rd largest party in parliament spokesman Al Malt has come out publically and blamed his Salafist sheikhs saying what many believe me included.

Saudi funded Abu Ismail supporters are calling for jihad and the other Salafists are distancing themselves from that sect. The others have been backing Fotouh not Ismail. It has sent the peasant classes crazy for their sheikh Abu Ismail and resulted in this. Peasants now willing to die for their sheikh just seems like Bin Laden all over again! I knew this would happen as the money flowed in from the gulf for his campaign!
he said that the youth should not hold all the blame BUT the Abu Ismail sheikhs for indoctrinating them.

    ------------------------------------

One of MB leaders El Bashbeshi has endorsed Fotouh rejecting MB choice Morsi and said that many MB have agreed to back Fotouh also. He stated that many MB will announce endorsement of Fotouh in coming days. Calling him an honest man, a real revolutionary and one who stood up to Sadat and Mubarak and fought to end corruption and dictatorship. He has launched campaign from MB called 'Brotherhood Coalition endorsing Abu El Fotouh.’ The MB youth is backing Fotouh and now it seems the core will back him also leaving the old guys like Morsi behind and we could actually see a big split in the MB, well we are actually now which is a good thing. The vast majority are very moderate and they outnumber the old boys voices.

Some polls are putting Mussa ahead of Fotouh BUT their numbers dont add up. I think maybe this is an attempt to scare voters and to make them vote Fotouh away from Mussa who I cannot see as having the figures they quote.

Hamdeen Sabahi one of the top 6 candidates today states

"Hear into pieces the peace treaty signed between Egypt and Israel in 1979"

" calls for an Egyptian initiative to form an Egyptian-Turkish-Iranian alliance, since relations with Iran had been cut off for no clear reason" "Egypt and Iran were victims of an American plot to achieve US interests at the expense of Egyptians and Iranians"

The Supreme Constitutional Court will give verdict within one month on whether current parliament is legal.

This could see it being disbanded and new elections because the law did not achieve true representation because it allowed political parties to compete for seats through both the list-based and the single-winner systems. It argues that the latter should have been left to independent candidates.

This also means that if the parliament is disbanded the SCAF will have to issue another amendment to the current transition constitution which would allow a change and that also the president would with his cabinet could decide on the formation of the new Constituent assembly and that means depending on who wins what way it will be chosen and who it represents in majority which would deny MB and Salafists a majority over writing it.

other news Palestinian Prison minister is in talks with Tantawy and Human Rights Groups in Cairo today to seek International and UN help on their hunger strikers who some are now being hospitalized and near death

Aren't you a tiny bit nervous your country may be heading for war? Strange you still have a constitutional court giving verdicts with the constitution suspended! Can't the new parliament declare the court's ruling nul and void as the constitution has been suspended? What a mess.

I suppose its good for Tantawi's image, kind've playing statsman but its barely seeking international help talking to him.

In traditional fashion, the 300 or more people who listened to Moussa's lunchtime speech in Qantara, on the west banks of the canal, were treated to huge trays of rice with slabs of meat on top served by a troop of waiters under colourful awnings.

Do you have somethieng against your traditions? Your horse seems to put a lot of emphasis on Egyptian tradition.

It was the holly on top which aroused suspicions. That and the bearded fat man in red handing out brown envelopes.
