Where did I allege that I checked the box in the 1990's?

Furthermore ancestral DNA typing only became available in 2012.

FTR the next time you fallaciously accuse me of lying you will be reported.

I think it is time for all americans to claim minority status. We are told basically all of our ancestors came from africa, so that make me, a white who came from early european settlers, an african american. Like warren, I am a minority. And can claim it as she did. Given my grandfather was 1/2 amerindian, I got minority status from that as well.

Point is, this stuff moves into absurdity, fast.

You said DNA testing didn't exist when she made her claims...DNA testing certainly was around in the 90s, while she was making her claims. Your link is to a database system, not the actual testing. Not sure where I claimed you were lying.

Possibly has, 10 generations or so ago. Not exactly definitive.

like I said....you are not excited about being one, which is why you can joke about it.....

Because as the article about Warren states, the woman in her family who was part native American was able to claim "white" in order to escape what? Being treated like a "minority"

So you have fun acting like its cute to joke about being a minority --- because we all know, when it comes time to be treated like one, you will stop that joke real quick....

She apparently did it privately and not through one of the popular DNA sites. There could be room for dispute.

""The inherent imprecision of the six-page DNA analysis could provide fodder for Warren’s critics. If her great-great-great-grandmother was Native American, that puts her at 1/32nd American Indian. But the report includes the possibility that she’s just 1/1024th Native American if the ancestor is 10 generations back.""

Wonder why she paid a private guy to do it rather than just run it through one of the services who would have no vested interest in the results.

She was listed as a minority faculty member. If there was nothing to gain, why would she do that?

A service that had no vested interest in the results wouldn't give her the required results that she so, so needs.

That makes here 1/512th at best. Not enough to assert minority status. Now that she's taken the test, any and all financial gain she accepted because of her assertion should be forfeit back to those organizations that provided those benefits.

Liz would have just claimed she was black in the event no indian DNA was present. Warren would have said she was the G ... G ... G... G ... Grandaughter of the African fossil known as Lucy. 1/512th ?

The law requires 1/16th. So, great great grand parent one of which would have had to be a native American. So, if she's 6 generations back, 1/64 at 6 gen, and 1/512 at 10 gens. The test, not being conclusive indicates the spread of her DNA evidence is entirely out of what is legally required. Many of our indian nations require at least a quarter to be recognized as a member of the tribe.

Its good to see dems still using the "one drop rule" as a means to justify their racial identitarian politics.

Warren's DNA analysis, conducted by Stanford University research Carlos Bustamante found that the "vast majority" of Warren's lineage is of European ancestry. But he also writes that the results "strongly support the existence of an unadmixed Native American ancestor in the individual's pedigree, likely in the range of 6-10 generations ago."

Oddly enough, there is no actual proof, just "strongly support".... which is words made up by whoever gave her the test. It's not definitive. Not even close. Besides it would disqualify her anyway from receiving any type of special treatment or allowing her to claim she is native American, in part. Not even there and no real concrete evidence. :)

"Elizabeth Warren's DNA test says there was a Native American ancestor 6 -10 generations ago...."

sounds like the right owes her an apology then

I kinda figured she was, she looks like she is part native American, so odds were there was truth to the family accounts of her having native ancestry in her blood

it's not supposed to impress, if just a fact...

just like Trump is a German, not Swedish like he clams to be

"Donald Trump claimed he was of Swedish ancestry - but it's a lie"

    http://nordic.businessinsider.com/d...s-of-swedish-ancestry---but-its-a-lie-2016-8/

"It seems the Trump family has been lying about their ancestry for a couple of generations. Donald Trump himself claimed in his book Trump: The Art of the Deal from 1987 that his father came to America as a boy, having emigrated from Sweden."
