Elon Musk's opinion on why we have the open border.

Moderates always seemed swayed as to the reason for our open border. They say it is often humanitarian. They say it is because Republicans won't send more money. They say it is only because our immigration system is broken. Many buy into this administration's excuses. but "common sense" Americans know it is just a ruse and now, the successful entrepreneur, Elon Musk, spells it out!

This seems obvious, but I think they've already succeeded.

 

Well what do we do, sit back and see where it takes us? Or do we insist on a mass deportation?

 

An "open border" is right-wing propaganda and Musk has descended the rabbit hole of nut job conspiracy theory.

 

Over 2.8 million immigrants crossed the border in 2023.

How many would need to do so before YOU called this an open border?

 

I think history is enough of a guide that we already know where history is going to take us. But no, I wasn't saying don't fight the administration's open borders policies. Obviously we should, but the point of Musk's tweet has already been accomplished, it's just a delayed reaction based on citizenship status of legal immigrants, the children of illegals who are citizens and are sympathetic to the illegal cause, and the death rate of current right leaning voters, who are dying off and are not being replaced in anywhere near the numbers they had.

There will be no mass deportations because you'll never get enough political power to make that happen.

 

2.8 million people and every one of them will claim they want asylum as to avoid persecution. No one believes that.

 

Both sides are becoming increasingly partisan which is the bane of democracy but a hallmark of authoritarianism. The right being suspicious of the authoritarian nature of the left while being ignorant of the rising authoritarianism of the right is just absurd.

 

When we don't even know who is entering, we don't know even their health history or criminal history, we don't know if Dad's are really children's father.....that to me is "open borders Edna. Maybe that ain't "open borders" to you but then again I think you may be one that despises our American Heritage.

 

And yet the proof is now spread to New York and beyond. The rate of migrants and asylum seekers is beyond ridiculous. You can't pretend anymore.

What does it matter what the political system is when all are doomed to fail due to human nature which over time is doomed to devolve into me and mine at the expense of you and yours? Human nature is not suited for democracy, Marxism, authoritarianism or any other forum of government. The historical rise and fall of Nations and Kingdoms is testament to that. To think America will not suffer a similar fate is symptom of our collective naivety and hubris.

I don’t have faith in the left or right to solve the complex issues we face. Heck, we can’t even elect moral and ethical politicians. I don’t blame the politicians. I blame the partisans that justify supporting such low quality candidates. Like I said, human nature is the problem and it is systemic.

Insisting hasn't done any good, they are "for now" cheap labor, easy to manage and abuse.

I reckon eventually Americans will tire of trying to make a decent living while competing with migrants willing to work, living in groups and pooling income and resources while building a retirement portfolio in Mexico..

Well I have heard both Haley and Trump talk about mass deportation. Eisenhauer did it. Do we hold them to their promises or just give up? Of course if Biden gets elected it's all over.

 

I agree 100% about human nature. A Republican Democracy is the best system of government devised by man to restrain the "evil one". I will never be so heavenly minded, however, to be no earthly good. The struggle is worth it so I don't give up.
