Although they claim it was decided before Christmas and has nothing to do with America's recent murder of the Iranian General it does sound very like the are responding to Trumps demand and are now giving up on the JCPOA.

Obviously things are always turned so that Iran gets the blame but I do not understand how the EU can be blaming Iran for not keeping the agreement when they themselves have not kept their part - despite claiming that was their intention.

Zarif has claimed that what it has been doing is not against the JCPOA but was fitted into the Treaty as there was so little trust if one side did not keep to it. That is gradually withdrawing from the deal if the other members are not doing their part and up until the American Assassination I thought that was what they were doing. The article says it does not expect Iran to become involved in further discussions.

Bit difficult to know what the UK and Europe are doing. Possibly Trump has been inflicting the thumscrews? Possibly they are getting off on the idea of the US leaving the ME and they taking over in their old role again. I do not know. I just know it seems insane to me that people who are not themselves keeping a deal can have a go at someone else for same especially as it was not Iran who started this.

I think I have got what is going on now. Trump bullied Germany France and the UK into doing it promising a 25% tariff on cars if they did not.

People are starting to talk of Trump as running the US like a Maffia boss. It looks also like Trump is trying to bully the UK and Europe into doing what he wants in the ME while he takes US people home. Boris gave this strange speech about us needing to learn to fight wars without the US. These are the two things Trump demanded of Europe in his speech after Iran's response to the US murder of Soleimani. I was surprised at his attitude in that speech and wondered if he had wanted to go to war but as usual wanted some 'willing' who would not go with him. Hence his response now to bully Europe to do what he wants - not that different to how he tries to bully others including Iran by economic means to do what he wants.

This kind of stuff obviously is unacceptable and I cannot see it being allowed to continue for long. It goes along with the US losing all its old allies and now just having Saudi Arabia and Israel.
