According to this CNN investigative report, Putin's Russia is investing a lot into creating an American network of useful idiots, one racist at a time:

    http://money.cnn.com/2017/10/12/media/dont-shoot-us-russia-pokemon-go/index.html

The facts are well documented in the article. Of course there will always be those rejecting everything CNN-ish. The "fake news" hysteria - amplified by the bitter divide between democrats and republicans, between left and right, between liberals and conservatives, between ethnic groups - and the subsequent lack of trust in everything reported by the mainstream media, is being cynically exploited by Russian propaganda outlets such as RT or Sputnik. Instead of using their brains, google and previous knowledge to discern truth from falsehood and legitimate opinion pieces from propaganda poison, many people prefer to be told what to think by an aggressive anti-American, anti-democratic, far right dictatorship. Maybe the human brain is wired to prefer simple, white-or-black dichotomies, like "bad America, good Russia", or "bad democracies, good brutal dictatorships". The reality, however, is never that simple.

What the article doesn't say explicitly, even though it's more obvious than a fly in a glass of milk, is that the Pokemon go scam targeted the most valuable, and the most vulnerable, asset of the US: the American youth. This is where I'd draw the most red of the red lines ever, would I be an American.

Although this has nothing to do with CNN's latest absurdity of Pokemon, it does reflect the reasons for the anti Russian propaganda that's being instilled into people's minds. Prof. Piers Robinson who holds a chair in Politics, Society and Political Journalism at the University of Sheffield said this:

It is part of a broader propaganda campaign to direct public attention onto Russia and place blame for everything onto Russia. And then, having done that, having placed that in the consciousness of the public - using that as a way of smearing politicians and closing down open debate from those politicians. That seems to be pretty obvious, that has been going on for some time and needs to be seen in those terms as a smear/propaganda campaign.

Credibility comes from what a person says and does, not from the amount of publicity they receive... and especially in our day and age, since most of it would be propaganda from disreputable sources such as CNN.

CNN didn't pull the Pokemon go contest out of a magically woven sleeve. It's the "Do Not Shoot Us" campaign that used Pokemon go to stir up racial hatred. CNN's investigation only shows that "Do Not Shoot Us" was linked to Internet Research Agency, you know, the Russian troll farm.

This is the man's opinion and he's entitled to it, but even an extremely cursory glance through media and social platforms proves that open debate has not been closed down even though "that" has been going on for some time. The Russian media, on the other hand...oh, well...

I assume that this Russian guy who started the "Don't Shoot Us" page is a social activist, who is really concerned about blacks in America. You can make America great again on Facebook, too, even if you aren't an American.

Why would you link the Pokemon go contest to elections? According to the article, it was focused on fanning racial hatred. It was obviously an experiment on how to influence American youth. Not everything in this world is linked to the US of A elections, you know.

Really concerned people may choose to stay anonymous on the world wide web, and that's fine. However, this alleged social activist gave a fake American name and a fake American address. Why? It doesn't seem like the best way to gain credibility, does it?

There are ways to track accounts on social media. Facebook tracked this particular account to the Kremlin linked farm troll known as the Internet Research Agency.

Well, the left is pretty adept at dividing the country from moving to the far left to identity politics. They don't need help from Russia.

The Russian campaign has been very effective, every country in the world has voters on all sides of the spectrum but only in America is there so much hatred for "the left" or "the right". A huge divide has been created by the Russian campaign and they are tearing America apart from the inside out. Of course those who continue to spew the left/right hatred remain clueless that they are being manipulated. The rest of the world sit back and watch America self destruct, helplessly flop around like a fish out of water not knowing how to stop the continuing rift.

My grandaughter laughed when I told her what CNN wrote, since she said it's well known Pokemon is Washington's tool. Then again, maybe it's probably why they're throwing it on Russia.

Let's stop this Russia fantasy, and the MSM lies, and get back to reality and the 150 organizations supported by George Soros' 'Open Society Foundation' like for instance; Black Lives Matter. His NGO's like USAID have been kicked out of almost every country because of the riots and friction they cause so he could forward his globalist and one world agenda.

We're not all idiots you know!

 what a ridiculous thing to say… but that’s your job isn’t it… to post the fake, stupid and ridiculous to be gobbled up by right or left. Without Russia’s interference America’s right and left would behave more like they do in other countries, with civility and without the point scoring even on issues of national security… of course you are not one of the clueless but part of the IRA posting the Russian agenda to continue the divide.

Americans are more inclusive than European nations. Anti-American propaganda, disguised as sincere concern for the future of the American society, is trying to convince American citizens that their wonderful, unique brand of inclusiveness. one of the qualities that made America great, will turn into the tool of their destruction.

One way to fight this kind of propaganda is education. There are other ways, of course, but that's US government's concern, not mine.

A democracy needs both left and right to survive. It needs controversy, differing opinions, compromises, public debate, demonstrations, and yes, even tearing down statues and constantly reevaluating its own values and priorities. What it doesn't need is hatred between different segments of the population. Americans will eventually understand this simple fact. It's in their culture to be inclusive.

Your granddaughter is not a reliable source, sorry.

If you have some evidence contradicting CNN's report, I'll be glad to discuss it with you.

Don't get me wrong. This whole Russian propaganda stuff is pretty scary. I'm not Putin's fan, but I wouldn't quite care about his interfering methods (everyone does interference on some levels) if those didn't involve messing with civilian population, sowing discord between citizens of foreign countries, attempting to destabilize functioning societies in democratic countries. This is terrorism on a global scale. It's less obvious and less lethal in the short term than terrorist attacks, but it's terrorism nonetheless because it's based on fear mongering and its prime target is the civilian population.

I don't know much about Soros. If the man did half of the stuff attributed to him, he wouldn't have time to breathe.
