    Obviously, the mentality is;

    As the presidential elections draw closer, there is a renewed effort to submerge our Covid HOTspots in cold water.

    Censorship?

    Correction;

    Censorship and Propaganda, however, less severe than the Nazis.

    In reference to Florida’s hospital who made an error.....Tampa Bay Times just published a politifact

    It could in fact, continue to grow. That said, a prediction without much of a basis is still just that and that's why you have the mask problem. It is important for anyone in authority, when they don't know something to say that they don't know or they're not sure or to say that it's a guess or something.

    So that they don't sound like an ass.

    He said: "...would not be surprised if new virus cases in the country reach 100,000 per day." He didn't say WILL reach 100,000 per day. How anyone could misinterpret this is beyond me. Of course, if one has an axe against Fauci to grind....

    The context is at a time where we were used to 20-30 K as our norm and 40,000 represented a slight climb up but nothing to suggest the climb would continue(at that time). And while it has still yet grown, I want to be hopefully optimistic that we're not going to add another 30 K to get to the dreaded 100K number.

    Look, I don't want to hate the guy or say bad things about him. I just want him and the whole scientific community to be humble, recognize that they have limits and help us within those limits.

    Fauci said that if we open up prematurely we could have 100,000 cases per day by October.

    It's not even August and we have 75,000 per day.

    And Trump is attacking Fauci because he claims Fauci is wrong?

    That's Trumpism.

    We adapt reality to make Trump seem in control of the situation.

    When that's impossible, someone else is assigned to take the blame.

    We are at 83,000 new cases per day NOW. I would be surprised if we didn't get to at least 90,000 per day, if not more, if people continue to be reckless. Of course, back in July, Fauci was ridiculed for this prediction of 100,000 new daily cases, by the usual pundits. The ones who have been wrong one on everything covid from day one.

    You'd think they'd notice.

    But they never do.

    Who’s going to/who do we want to challenge this forthcoming Perfect Storm, Biden or Trump?

    Last estimated flu season (2018 - 2019), near 500,000 citizens were hospitalized over a 7 month period, and its peak months, Dec, Jan, and Feb.

    Let’s assume 2020 - 2021 flu season will end up hospitalizing 300,000 citizens over 7 months, here’s a peak model; 20, 40, 60, 60, 60, 40, 20,000.

    Last two Covid19 waves; Our number of Hospitalizations peaked at 60,000, thus, most likely, by January 1st, plus/minus 120,000 citizens will be hospitalized for the Flu and/or Covid19.

    Well, your post didn't age very well - we just hit the 100,000 a day mark.
    So did you hate Fauci because he ignored Trump's orders?

    Took about four months to hit that 100,000 mark from the time I posted it. But also, we learned that 69+ % of people are wearing masks and have worn them regularly, so I don't know how much Fauci and Co would have made a difference. But hey, President Biden promises a draconian Chinese-style mandate so we're going to find out.

    Edited to say four months. From July-to-November. He made his declaration as it were something to happen relatively soon, not months soon. Not even weeks soon, but during the summer spike.

    Again, not the same thing whatsoever but crow about it if it's something to crow about.

    I was just at the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show last week (largest in the country) - thousands of people crowded in boats and
    tents and less than 20% were wearing masks - we'll see how that turns out in about 10 days.

    Excuses, excuses... You were wrong, why can't you just admit it.

    If anonymous people on the internet can't even admit if they were wrong, we could expect it even less of our leaders.

    But I wasn't wrong at the time of its relevance. That it later increased to 100,000 some four months later doesn't invalidate what was said at the time or the context of saying it. That's like some person saying they'll never be fat, and then they end up fat five or ten years later and I'm like "Guess you were wrong, you are fat."

    It would just totally be inaccurate.
