From the New York Times Magazine...

I Run War Games. Too Often, I Am the Only Woman in the Room.

But there is something else dictating the available choices in war gaming, and that is a lack of gender diversity. War gaming — as with war more generally — has long been a male domain and has significant barriers to entry, retention and advancement. You can’t learn by reading; you have to learn by doing.

I wonder what the barriers to entry are..white males maybe?

I didn’t grow up playing Axis & Allies or memorizing all the fighter aircraft flown by the United States Air Force, like some of my male colleagues did. These are the sorts of things that started me at a disadvantage. Everything about war gaming and military operations more broadly I have learned as an adult, from scratch, whereas most of my male counterparts have been inadvertently training for this job since they were children. Even now, 10 years into my career, I am still playing catch up.

    Oh it's this.

The men in her field have been preparing for this job their entire lives. She stumbled into it. Therefore...sexism.

    Sigh...

Where is the link to read the whole piece? You seem to target women in the military with your complaints, so I’d like to see everything in context.

The link is in the title of the article, and I'd like to hear more about my "complaints."

As the piece says or implies nothing about sexism, your claim that is was a complaint about sexism looks to be incorrect.

Can you support your claim with any evidence?

Didn't they teach her nothin' in the army? She just needs to get up earlier in the morning. Maybe get a new joy stick. She'll make it okay.

Yes. It did not make any accusations of sexism. Why did you think it did?

The problem here seems to be with you, as you see a complaint about sexism where it doesn't exist.
