Florida Is Facing a Leprosy Outbreak. You’ll Never Guess What May Be the Cute Culprit.

Certain age groups — adolescents and those over the age of 30 — are more likely to contract leprosy, and men are more at risk than women. (Illustration: Getty Images)

Diseases you probably thought were obliterated have been making headlines lately. First, there was the measles outbreak at Disneyland this past winter. Then, cases of the plague appeared in Colorado. And now, Florida is seeing a spike in leprosy cases.

To blame the armadillo for spreading leprosy is political correctness in the extreme. There are plenty of immigrants in New York, but no armadillos, yet leprosy is endemic there. How disingenuous of the CDC and the MSM.

Another fact that seems to be covered up is that the mycobacterium that causes leprosy is becoming immune to antibiotics.

Well, if it helps: people of European descent are immune to the disease.

Well why not armadillos with leprosy? We have poisonous toads and alligators, and there's even a komodo dragon running around Palm Beach.

All of a sudden the armadillos are spreading disease in sync with the influx of immigrants?

    Yeah, right.

Say, since you're obviously very certain of a positive correlation between immigration numbers and cases of leprosy, would you care to prove that correlation with some statistics?

So that's simply a "no". You made a claim that was not supported by evidence, and you simply refuse to admit it.

You could've just said that right away. "I made this up, by the way"

I have long said that the US - a third world country. Scientists have recently discovered in New York of York subway - the virus plague and other dangerous diseases. Now - leprosy. I thought that these diseases were in the Middle Ages. But in the US these diseases possible to meet even now.

    ZOMG not teh Leparsy!

95% of the human population is immune to the disease. Unless you are in the remaining 5%, you're not at risk.

Even if you are, the disease is entirely curable, and the cure is free in the US.

In Russia, they would probably have to lay off another 10% of government employees to pay to cure such an outbreak.

    Ha ha ha...
Leprosy in the US is catastrophic. We try to hide the epidemic. Media, politicians...they are compelled by money or threat to cover it up. It's horrific. In cities it is unsafe to leave any skin exposed. Leprosy in the US is completely denied, repressed. Divulging the details could have major international consequences...But capitalist greed mongers will suffocate the dying if such measures increase their bottom line.

In certain paranoid right wing circles that qualifies as "endemic" just as the ebola "crisis" clearly demonstrated.

I agree, the U.S. is definitely turning into a third world country, in many ways. Things are definitely not like they were during the Cold War period.

Maybe you can provide some "correct" Russian sources heh heh

Maybe Putin can cut another 10% of the government workers to help fight AIDS in your country.
