I like how you didn't try and sweep that under the rug. You even led with it. Kudos.

That's the problem, you aren't informed. When you see some one who can do no wrong in your eyes how would you know they were failing?

It's really tragic reading the post from all the typical leftwingers here that are really upset about the news that less people are on Food Stamps. Why are you all so upset at that?

I had trouble parsing this sentence until I realized "can" was a verb. I even wrote "trying growing some verbs" and luckily reread what you wrote.

I'm not upset about it. I'm probably one of the few libs here who are in favor of work requirements. Work has more than just a monetary reward. Free handouts rob the recipient of the societal reward and empowering nature of work.

Unequal protection of the law should be considered an immorality and sin.

It started from a peak during the Obama years.

Obama was the food stamp president.

Economically and fiscally it is a double whammy, the people cease being a government expense and become government revenue. That is what supply-side economics predicts and always comes to fruition.

Looks to me like we're still recovering from the financial crisis. Obama played his part in that well, of course. Trump hasn't changed much of what Obama was doing.

It is a myth, though, and one oft repeated, that his slashing taxes is somehow creating jobs that otherwise would not have been created. Supply and demand forces lead to the creation and loss of jobs, and presidents have practically no effect on that. Even Trump's tax cuts don't mean a thing to most consumers.

And when the Republicans started taking back political power after the Democrats had taken majority political power back in 2007 and we see the results.

Yes the Democrats took majority control in 2007, total control in 2009 and then in 2012 the Republicans began taking it back.

He was also the thanks-for-handing-me-this-Great-Recession President. Don't you remember what it was like in Oct. 2007 when Mccain suspended his campaign? We were losing 700,000 jobs a MONTH. That's how bad it was. That's what Obama had to deal with on day one. You guys never give him any credit for keeping that recession from becoming a depression and handing off a halfway decent economy to Trump.

I think that's usually true, but who they appoint to run the Fed can be hugely important, and if Obama hadn't appointed Bernanke, and if there hadn't been Quantitative Easing, things could have gotten a whole lot worse.

Yep, quite true. We would have had a proper economic crash without that.

Odd there would be so many on food stamps during that time given how Obama inherited such a great and robust economy....
