This is just one of those college elite science reports. No conservatives will be interested in reading it.
They are being honest, technically, there's chicken in them. Every little scrap of chicken that cannot be used on their salads etc goes into a mcnugget. Very odd "liberals only" would need a scientist to point out what the rest of observant society has already known. What's next? Hotdogs? Sausage? This bolsters my opinion that a segment of society lives in a bubble of low information. One need not be a rocket scientist to have an understanding of ones surroundings.
Actually, it isn't a science report, it is a one-sided news blurb. In fact it is mostly quotes from an interview. Let's start with this one: They imply that it is a lie to call things like chicken fat, chicken cartilage, chicken blood vessels and other such parts of a chicken "chicken". Any part of a chicken is still chicken. It would be a lie if the nuggets were marketed as "100% white meat chicken" or something similar, but there is nothing in the article claiming that they do. They could legitimately make the nuggets out of chicken feathers and bone, and it would still be chicken. That wouldn't be a lie. Now look at this quote from the article: So this "scientific study" was actually just one researcher taking a nugget from two restaurants. All the study can actually claim is that they found two nuggets that meet this description. They need to test a lot more nuggets from a lot more restaurants before they can actually make any kind of a scientific claim about nuggets from any given chain or the industry as a whole. This "study" is no better than the anecdotes about someone who found a beak or foot in their McNuggets - just a single example, not a trend or representative sample, just a single example.
If you don't like it then don't eat it. I happen to love McDonalds' chicken nuggets. Myself and McDonalds get together and voluntarily agree to trade money for chicken nuggets, but you seem to want to tell us we can't do this. The left can be just as moralistic as the Republicans. You both need to **** off out of my life and let me make my own decisions.
I eat fast food on occasion but I don't get all huffy and pretend it's not just salt and grease with maybe a few microscopic bits of actual meat thrown in I cook stuff that's way tastier than anything I'd buy at McDonald's Where'd he say that he wanted to ban chicken nuggets? IMO people who think like you do are the most moralistic - you seem to think that pointing out something negative about an activity is the equivalent of calling for it's ban - who're you to dictate what opinions people can't and can express?
If you looked at any of your food under a microscope you wouldnt eat it. If you dont like it then all you liberals have to do is not eat it. I say liberals because your thread says "for liberals only" but its no more difficult than that. Conservatives already understand the concept that if you dont like something then .....just.....dont...... buy .....it and if enough people agree with you then the product goes away. Why not look at hot dogs, bologna, slim jims and sausages next? Do you want to tell someone they cant snap into a slim jim? In china, they eat chicken and duck blood soup. I dont think I would like that so I just dont eat it but I wouldnt tell someone not to.
I don't pretend that it's quality food, but it tastes great and from time to time, yes, I do enjoy a nice 6 pack of McNuggets. That's fair enough if you find your own cooked food tastier than that from McDonalds, I'm sure it probably is, but I have no such skills, and do have a sweet tooth for fast food. I'd much prefer to eat at KFC than some upmarket French restaurant. Not that I have anything against up market food, I enjoy that on special occasions too - but my sense of taste tells me that I prefer crap Quite right, I extrapolated that from the title, his sig, and prior experience with him, but that's not a direct admission. Acted in haste, sorry about that. At the time it seemed fairly obvious that he was advocating some sort of involvement - my bad - perhaps he could clarify his position?
My question would have to be why? It's common sense what's in a mcnugget. McDonalds is not an educator they sell fast food. Hold your own hand for a change.
Under trade secrets laws, the big glop peddlers can hide all sorts of information from the customer. There is not nearly enough education in our schools concerning what sort of noxious dreck the corporations are trying to feed our kids. Some school deformers a few years back were even suggesting that the schools just shut down their food service operations and let scumbag outfits like McDung's run the cafeterias, since the kids really just wanted fries and birdy junk any way.. No, parents cannot always tell their kids that this compost is bad for threm, because not all of them are well-enough informed themselves. I was once a mess sergeant so this stuff should be on file somewhere in the Rollodex of my mind, but, now and then, the fast and the fungal will slip a product past me that looks good but is really a low-density lipoprotein time bomb.
Here is one for you: If you buy a chicken wing, about half of what you are buying is bone, fat, skin and blood vessels - abouth the same percentage as this article is implying shouldn't be legally marketed as being chicken. Should it be illegal to market chicken wings as being "chicken"?
If parents out there aren't smart enough to know a steady diet of mcdonalds is bad for their children then they are unfit parents and their children should be taken away. If you are dumb enough to not know how to feed your children then you shouldn't be reproducing in the first place. You should not need any education at all on this. Its common sense that every human instinctively knows. The same instinct that tells you not to eat that moldy piece of meat without any education whatsoever. If you do eat it we call this natural selection. Natural Selection is good, it breeds out the flaws. If you don't know instinctively fast food is bad you are flawed.
We should ship mcnuggets to the eskimos seeing as how they eat whale blubber it seems we could improve their diet by giving them some healthier food choices like mcnuggets and fries.
What part of "For liberals only" don't you understand? If people aren't liberals I don't care what you eat. If you want to pick up a dog turd out of your yard and start chewing on it I couldn't possibly care less. If McDonalds wants to fry one up for you and tell you its something else that's OK too. All you need to do is look at the responses of these right wingers and apparent "moderates" and you should understand why I feel like that. Oh, wait, you people don't understand plain English! A quick reminder for those with a brain (liberals again) the gov't isn't inspecting "food products" right now so be picky about what you eat. The rest of you chomp away! If McDonald's wants to reuse meat from their trash bins its none of your business.
Do you ever wonder why you need to explain only to liberals that a steady fast food diet is bad for you? I don't.
That's fine - if that's what he was advocating I agree with you, though I didn't get that vibe from this thread
Ahh, alright, sorry about that then. Thought you were advocating that they be forced to call them Throw-Away Pseudo-Chicken Nuggets™ under threat of imprisonment/theft via fines, etc.
